Re: so this agenda thing.

Just moved house and it's wank for getting a signal where I am,I wanted to listen to the Leicester game on the radio and obviously couldn't,anyway Sussed it out whilst putting a bet on my bet365 account that they do a commentary.....
I DARE anyone who thinks there is an agenda to listen to a commentary on bet365........YOU WILL hunt them down, trust me.

Re: so this agenda thing.

Whether you call it an agenda, being selective, media self-interest or whatever, you only need to look at what's going on at Liverpool and how that's reported to see how things are.

Bodger (or someone close to him) has clearly briefed a Liverpool Echo journalist he's close to about this so-called transfer committee they have and how it's holding him back by not getting the players he wants. It's nothing less than an attack on the ownership and structure of the club. It's also seemingly an open secret that there is severe dressing room turmoil there, with certain players at loggerheads and Bodger almost certainly refusing to pick players he didn't buy and even ostracising some of those he did buy. That story ran in The Echo yesterday.

So I expected to see the back pages full of "Liverpool in turmoil" stories and hear about nothing else on stations like TalkSport. After all, the press pack are usually quick to pick up on these regional papers' stories and take them national. Yet there's not a peep on that story anywhere this morning. Now compare that to the shit we got two seasons ago with Mancini at the helm or even earlier this season plus the easy ride that Wee Davey got from them.

Re: so this agenda thing.

But again, it's not anti-City but pro-readership surely?

Take Graham Hunter on Talksport this morning, once again spoke very highly of MP and how Barca now view us - saying how they came away with lots of respect for City after we last played them etc.

I agree there are some journos who will never give us a fair crack of the whip as they most likely are rags/dippers etc but there are a good few out there who aren't.

In an article where Ogden clearly says we withdrew from the race for Neymar because of a bizarre demand, The Telegraph lead with a headline that the player "turned us down":

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/11295500/Champions-League-draw-Why-Neymar-turned-down-Manchester-City.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... -City.html</a>

The headline says that and then in the article the guy writes.....
"Rather than treat Neymar’s demands seriously, however, City withdrew from the race to sign the player, regarding his negotiating position as firm evidence of his determination to move to Spain rather than England. "

So the thick fuc*ker puts a headline that is at odds with his own story !!

I thought that you 'weren't arsed'. ;)

Seriously, I've turned into more of an agenderist of late. It's just getting more ridiculous by the day, notably since the CFA opening. Funny, that!

We need to keep up the pressure. Our opposition to the bias and negativity is clearly being noted.

Exactly these types of articles affect every big club but I think for City fans they are struggling to get used to our new found status and the accompanying media exposure, both good and bad, which naturally results.

Never in my lifetime have I seen the opening of an academy get so much media attention (and rightly so) so it certainly works both ways.

Because it is our club people are sensitised to any press coverage and sadly this results in many finding innocuous slights and negative articles as being evidence of an agenda. Similarly other fans of other clubs see the same bias as like our fans they focus their interest on their own club.

Ha, I must've let my guard down! Maybe it was just a lazy sub editor who wrote the headline.

Bloody hell, Dave.

You're telling me you only managed to find 10 web-based articles in as many as 8 minutes following PB's post? Articles from the likes of The Express, Daily Mail, The Guardian, The Daily Star et al? Articles slating the Liverpool, the manager and the dressing room, as well as suggesting possible replacements?

Not good enough - you must try harder.

Re: so this agenda thing.

From the Mirror yesterday. Look how for the clique it's 'adding to their squad' but for City it's 'throwing money at it'. Bizarre.
