Brian Horton was doing a decent job, why Lee fucked him off for the flat capped squeaker I’ll never know
Tell us more :)It wasn't Alan Ball who caused the real mess.
It was the useless fucking clown Frank Clark.
The worst manager in our entire history.
A shit stain of a man, contempt for our club, played politics with everyone and left us an impossible shit sandwich.
A **** of the highest order, along with his odious assistant Alan Hill.
At least Ball cared, as did Phil Neal.
Clark and Hill had contempt for City.
I made sure Joe Royle got the job.
Tell us more :)
Yep, went on the Sat, one of the guys had driven to the 4-0 from Poole (Dorset) saying it couldn't be any worse.......on the Monday morning he got a parking ticket through the post from Merseysides finest for the midweek game too lol.I went to that one and Im pretty sure it was 4-0 but remember those comments. If memory serves me correct we went back in the league 4 days later and got beat 6-0

Because he was seen as Swales man? We played nice stuff under Brian, proto Pep.Brian Horton was doing a decent job, why Lee fucked him off for the flat capped squeaker I’ll never know
Complete trouserspeople will probably point to Pearce but for me this was the worst of times. A literally unbelievable appointment of a person with an average (at best) managerial eecord
What WAS Franny thinking???
Franny Lee signed Kinkladze without any input from the manager, on the back of a masterclass for Georgia v WalesHe signed us Kinky though lol, that was the only positive though. Clark, Neal, Coppell all followed, god they were dire times
We did, the likes of Quinn, Rosler, Walsh, Beagrie played some great stuff. A standout memory was the 3 2 win at champions Blackburn, we played extremely well and the players seemed to me they were really playing for BHBecause he was seen as Swales man? We played nice stuff under Brian, proto Pep.
Never managed again did he? Had a nice time picking up easy money at the LMA insteadIt wasn't Alan Ball who caused the real mess.

And we had the genius of GioJobs for your mates never felt more appropriate than this. Ball as a player by all accounts was very very good but his managerial experience and results before he rocked up at city were nothing short of diabolical. How did he ever get the job.
Time may be playing a part but was this around the time we thought we were getting George Graham or Dave Bassett and they both fucked it off.
Such a shit show back then. But at least we had some nice kits in those days.
Yeah he did, Bally probably thought another shit player was on the way. Our buys were fucking abysmal back in that eraFranny Lee signed Kinkladze without any input from the manager, on the back of a masterclass for Georgia v Wales
Can't disagree with you there but would say that by getting time Clark came, off the top of my head Curle, Quincy, Flitcroft, Walsh, Beagrie(?), Lomas etc were all gone.It wasn't Alan Ball who caused the real mess.
