The Album Review Club - End of Round #9 Break (page 1904)

Just postponed their OZ tour most likely their last because of the border situation in WA.

While I will have to wait to see them live one last time it shows you the dedication this band has for their army of fans as they don't want WA's to miss out.

Make up and antics or not they give a show that is worth taking in every time.

Not sure if I will go and see them one last time should they get to Download Festival in June. I've seen them on this final tour already so it will be same show but in a muddy horrible field...

I’ll give it a 4 now, if I don’t have to find time for another listen.
Can’t guarantee the score wouldn’t go down if I have to listen again.
I know fans won’t see this in it, but my god it’s dull. It’s generic, it’s homogenised. It’s just not my taste.
At best it’s a Rainbow tribute band and at worst it’s a Van Halen wannabe band that are in reality closer to UFO.
Would they have made it if they didn’t find a gimmick to standout?

I don’t know. Didn’t like it when I was 16-17 and I’m well past it’s likes now.

You nearly got a mention in my review as someone who was not blown away by the FTH gig but I edited it out in an attempt to be more concise!

I'm sure I've mentioned it before but the KISS album I'd recommend to you is Unmasked.

Shame you aren't big on KISS when Cheap Trick's best song name checks them ;-)

I will give Unmasked a whirl mate. As for Destroyer .... will give it a 6/10 from me.

To be fair they came before most of those bands and influenced them.

They did and I guess they in turn were influenced by the likes of Bowie, Alice Cooper and the New York Dolls. To be honest, I was surprised when I read this album was released in 1975. If I had had to guess it would have been at least 5 years later.

I was 18 when it released. Maybe I was born a music snob because I Really didn’t like them then and I sure haven’t grown into them.
If I am forced to listen to ’Glam Rock’, I would rather listen to an early Queen album. If I want guitar driven rock then I would rather listen to Thin Lizzy or others. I guess if you loved them when you were young then that would be a reason to still listen to them.

I am going to give it more listens as it isn’t fair to score it on the basis of a couple.
