Only ever really listened to Forever Autumn.
I remember a big hoohaa about this however, way back when.

Brilliant album. Richard Burton had a voice like Morgan Freeman or Michael Holding. They could narrate the phone book, and it'd sound interesting. And Phil Lynott is excellent as the parson.

(a) The blessed Jimharri has joined in!
(b) He's contributed to a music thread without frothing at the mouth about the M word!!

Got to be worth an extra point before we even start.

The Eve of the War and in fact the whole enterprise could have easily collapsed under it's own weight in the first 5 mins. That it doesn't is pretty much down to Burton simply being Burton.

Brilliant album. Loved it when it came out and still listen to it regularly. It inspired me to read the book and I’ve been a huge HG Wells fan ever since. The only thing that irks me was finding out about the creative liberty Jeff took with the ‘Ulla’ cry.
