The Album Review Club - Week #145 - (page 1923) - Tellin' Stories - The Charlatans

Without distracting too much from the album at hand, I'm up next and I'm torn between two albums. For the collective benefit, as I do want at least some folk to at least partly enjoy it. So will put this out for some guidance, two posts will follow, if you have any preference, 'like' the one you'd rather chance.

A genre we haven't had before, emo. On the more melodic and tame side of it.
I think it’s possible I like some emo without having realised it’s emo. Be interesting to hear some knowingly.

We know that music’s just music. Today on this thread you will hear gospel and rhythm and blues. And jazz and emo…

Said someone somewhere, along those lines anyway

As I've mentioned to a few folks -- those Mancs who were around for the LFTH Pistols' show or the birth The Smiths -- I was in college in Washington DC during the generally-acknowledged "birth" of emo in the 80s and acquainted (albeit casually) with some of the genre's originators (though they HATED the term). So always interested in music connected to or influenced by those early bands.
