The Album Review Club - Week #147 - (page 1942) - Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan

I feel the same. Love the thread. The only thing I was being a ponce over was the scoring.
I say let people pick whatever they like. As long as they are up for taking the rough with the smooth in the reviews.
Totally. I am also trying to find things I think others enjoy. Because, after all, whether you were introduced to a piece of music by a friend or the radio or a critic, the distributor/channel of the music (and often times the artist too) was most of the time trying to find something you’d enjoy, and upon which you would connect (for either their own current or future profit motive, or out of love for or friendship with you).

I also think, for me at least, bookmarking ones to come back to is as important as listening 3 times, scoring and moving on.

For some people, 3 listens might be enough. For some albums, 3 listens might be enough. I am not one of those. There honestly isn't a single album that I really like, that I can say I knew I liked after just 3 listens. Some of my favourites took me a while to love. Most of the good ones take time to settle.

Going back to things that stood out even slightly on here is worth doing imo.

I missed a fair few and apologise to those that I didn’t score. It wasn’t any slight on any of your picks, it was me being a twat.
I had a lot going on at home and was in a strange mood over summer. It’ll be reflected in my next pick which was the theme to my summer….. when I wasn’t listening to the picks in here.

I still don’t like the concept of scoring someone else’s taste in music, but in the spirit of the thread I’ll get over it.

Apology accepted ;). Although your two word review suggested you at least gave it a spin. Hope all is better now and it was nothing burdening.

The same couple of regulars seemed to sit my ones out. Wont name names Saddleworth2 and co. but yous are on the list now. Next round, I'm looking for a theme!

Yes I love “Living on the 110” but not keen on much else tbh.

The EP is great. 4 or 5 top songs. some of the individual singles too, not on the album. The album though, only a few of the same level. Hail to the Chief is one that stands out.

I was disappointed when they abandoned the 'project', for a repeat RATM tour they then cancelled, as I thought there was good stuff to come.
