The Album Review Club - Week #147 - (page 1942) - Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan

I'd say do it. Get those hard-edged things up, if they rock your boat and you think they need heard. Punk, noise, hip-hop, for a week, whats the harm.

My next one, is one I wanted to nominate first, when I joined. But I wasn't ready. Next round, I didn't think you lot were ready. Now I Know you are not, but I am, so this round it is.
Nominate it.What is the worst that can happen. Not my cup of tea.
It is a bit of fun after all.

It wasn't so much for caring whose cup of tea what is. My other ones weren't exactly popular crowd pleasers. I just wasn't emotionally ready. I am comfortable with what I like and why, I think most here are, it is at the end of the day all about sharing.

Agree. But if you kept it at specifying a decade I think that would work without being restrictive at all.

Perhaps, yeah. I don't have an issue with the way things are myself and don't see a need to tinker. But will happily go with whatever is put forward and well recieved. People have been doing this longer than me, so I am behind on the curves.

I’m trying to steer away from the classics, indeed I don‘t think anyone on here had heard of ‘Sunhouse’,and I look forward to listening to stuff I’ve not heard of before or in a long time.My next choice could well be from the Emerald isle, unless its your next nomination.
I very much doubt it’ll be who I have in mind, but PM me if you are in doubt.
Actually No don’t. If you get there first I’ll be impressed and pick something else myself.

The Smiths was always going to bring the punters in.
OB1's picks always bring more voters in (I think there must be a good number of rockers on here).

I don't think "it revived interest in this thread". I think we have a good number of people who post most weeks, but you will always get regulars + specialists when something well-known is nominated.
I missed a fair few and apologise to those that I didn’t score. It wasn’t any slight on any of your picks, it was me being a twat.
I had a lot going on at home and was in a strange mood over summer. It’ll be reflected in my next pick which was the theme to my summer….. when I wasn’t listening to the picks in here.

I still don’t like the concept of scoring someone else’s taste in music, but in the spirit of the thread I’ll get over it.

If it helps, I don't really think of it as 'scoring someone else's taste in music'. I think of it as me putting a number against mine, and quantifying the impression it made on me.

I feel the same. Love the thread. The only thing I was being a ponce over was the scoring.
I say let people pick whatever they like. As long as they are up for taking the rough with the smooth in the reviews.
