Without sounding like a spoilt brat if we go into the season with only Aguero and Nacho ( Assuming Bony is on his bike ) we won't win the league.
Surely we're in for a striker @tolmie's hairdoo

I'm sure I read soemwhere that Sane's true potential could be at striker?.....With Sane and Nolito both able to play upfront I wouldnt be concerned about depth at that position

I suspect Pep sees Nolito, Sterling and Sane as potential strikers too. He Ike's the strikers to come in from wide right?

Whilst a window of:

Gundogan
Nolito
Zinchenko
Rulli
Stones
Peres
Sane
Moreno

Is a big window, i'm absolutely amazed we haven't gone for another top class midfielder. Those additions above are needed but still leave us short in midfield.

Looks like Toure and Bony are staying too, which is a real shame.

I don't understand why anyone thinks this way.

We have Aguero, the best striker in the league.

If he gets injured we have a kid who has risen to every challenge and shown he's got world class potential.

Then we'll have Sané, who many in Germany think might end up at striker anyway.

Then Sterling who can do a job there, and I'm sure can do a much better job under Pep than Pellegrini.

Then Silva, who's played false 9 for Spain dozens of times.

Then Nolito who could also play false 9.

Then an academy full of talent.

The idea we need 3 world class strikers for 1 position on the pitch is absolute rubbish, and it's something Guardiola has never done. Barcelona had 4 players to cover the entire front 3, and Bayern only had Lewandowski, with Muller playing out of position the only cover option.

We don't need another striker.

Not very strong in the air that lot. In fact that could be the case for the complete team given the list of new players circulating this thread today. Any reason to be worried?

We need someone good in the air but also technical on the ball. Lewandowski like

With all the new foreigners I can't see Bony making the 17.

Aguero will pick up injuries as the months get colder just like he always does.
Do you honestly believe Sterling , Sane , Nolito and even Nacho will score north of 20 PL goals
No chance
It will cost us the league if we don't replace a departing Bony with someone with a record

Our CM is still quite a bit behind the likes of Real,Barca, Bayern. We should be looking at another top CM.

I'm in a constant state of worry. No need for reason.

We have an overload of midfielders.

Think about it, the following are almost locks to start:
Gundogan
KDB
Fernandinho
Silva
Nolito

Then throw in some squad players:
Sterling
Nasri
Yaya
Navas
Fernando?

I don't think we'll be in on any more unless Kroos or Thiago are possible.

Why?

We only need that if we are planning on launching the ball up to the striker or crossing aimlessly.

This isn't the 1970s anymore. You don't need half the team to be big men to have any success in England.

We have Aguero, the best striker in the league. - Yet he will miss half the season

If he gets injured we have a kid who has risen to every challenge and shown he's got world class potential - Potential that it

Then we'll have Sané, who many in Germany think might end up at striker anyway.( who knows could be anything > won't score 20+

Then Sterling who can do a job there, and I'm sure can do a much better job under Pep than Pellegrini. - he can't hit a barn door

Then Silva, who's played false 9 for Spain dozens of times. - and his scoring record is shite

Then Nolito who could also play false 9. - who knows

Then an academy full of talent.

100% disagree

Imagine a Suarez or Lewandowski in the squad and it would almost guarantee us the title

And where's Suarez or Lewandowski going to play when Aguero is fit?

Given neither can play wide and Pep will only play one striker.

It's unnecessary and it's exactly the kind of thinking that fucked Guardiola over with Ibrahimovic.

Our CM is still quite a bit behind the likes of Real,Barca, Bayern. We should be looking at another top CM.

As a friend of mine pointed out, it's looking likely that a Silva or KDB will be pushed back into a midfield role. I don't think our current CM options are up to much, but there's a dearth of top quality players in this position which makes it hard.

I guess it comes down to not being able to offload players who aren't good enough.

Ideally we'd sell Toure, Fernando and Nasri and then go at 2 more top class central midfielders.

Even so, I'd say we need another top class midfielder more than another central defender.

However, the fact we are after Stones and there's no signs of any of our other centre backs leaving indicates we could be looking at a back 3 in order to get Silva and De Bruyne into the same team.

Well Pep did play 3 along the back frequently at Bayern, but haven't all the rumours suggested we are in on two CBs? First Stones/Laporte now Stones/Bonucci?

In that regard, you're thinking of shoehorning Stones into LB, potentially.

I agree though that Gundogan, Silva and KDB will all start, and why not? World class midfield right there. Just presents a dilemma of having too many players.

Think it's unrealistic to bench Nolito/Sane too.
