In that regard, you're thinking of shoehorning Stones into LB, potentially.

I agree though that Gundogan, Silva and KDB will all start, and why not? World class midfield right there. Just presents a dilemma of having too many players.

Think it's unrealistic to bench Nolito/Sane too.

Well it won't help us get good fee's if they're all true, and the wages they earn make it even harder (to get rid). It won't be good for the training ground either if we have players who can only play in the Capital One Cup.

Pep DOES rotate all the time, but he has a midfield foundation that never rotates unless required. At Barca this was Messi-Xavi-Iniesta, at Bayern this was Alonso-Lahm-Thiago and here it seems likely to be KDB-Gundogan-Silva.

As a friend of mine pointed out, it's looking likely that a Silva or KDB will be pushed back into a midfield role. I don't think our current CM options are up to much, but there's a dearth of top quality players in this position which makes it hard.

I can see Sane, Stones, Peres and Moreno being done deals for this window but don't honestly see us signing a LB, or any galacticos as such this summer. Kroos is looking less and less likely unless we manage to offload Toure. However if we manage to sign the four above along with the existing signings of Gundogan, Nolito and Zinchenko, I think we have had a pretty good window.

We certainly will have added some talented players to our squad with that list. I think this is extremely cool and much better than spending everything on 1 galactico. I hope Pep will then also actually use these young players and not just send them away on loan.
