One of the very best outcomes of this for myself would be the current heads having to get off their fat arses and change the status quo. Income will dry up enough to hopefully smash the "be nice to utd and liverpool if not have a pop at City, i'll be on my yacht" ethos that prevails. Even if they change the core narrative i want to see them on their knees asking why the readers have not come back. Then they can wither away.

It has the potential to be great, I had it already for NBA coverage and if they can bring the same kind of things to football then it will be well worth the subscription. The whole premise is that they won't be doing clickbait, they'll be writing more considered in depth pieces as they don't need the clicks, it needs to be good enough to pay for.

I'd like it for MLB too, problem is all these piecemeal subs to various services/podcasts have really added up. I will cancel an.other one to give this a go though I reckon. I don't pay any subs TV either.

I feel like my opinions are better and more worth sharing if they've been formed from analysing unbiased information. Just like in any walk of life - doing a PhD (theoretically) means you know as much about that topic as anyone, but you don't get there without reading papers around the subject.
