Part of the Paisley Underground originally before they went mainstream.
The Paisley Underground: an oral history of Los Angeles's 1980s psychedelic explosion
Michael Hann: Think of LA in the 1980s, and you think of hair metal. But elsewhere, the Bangles, the Dream Syndicate and a handful of others were reviving the 1960s and briefly becoming rock's hottest scene. Here's the story in the musicians' own wordswww.google.co.uk
The Go Go's for me.The Slits all day long
I think that’s probably because it was number one around the time of Hillsborough - knocked Madonna’s Like A Prayer off the top spot IIRC. Eternal Flame had a strange ascent to the top though. For weeks and weeks it was in the lower echelons of the top 40 and going nowhere even though from memory it was getting a fair bit of airplay. Then all of a sudden it rocketed up the charts.Song always makes me emotional and reminds me of Hillsborough, don't know why I immediately remember the scenes of that terrible day and really strong sadness of how the fans reached for help that never came.
Sometimes music takes you to a place that you may have forgotten and not only good times.
Would never select the song ever but that doesn't mean it's not a great song.
You can see why it never really made it big and any bands that did changed into pop groups. It lacked proper decent albums with really only “Emergency Third Rail Power Trip” by Rain Parade being a full album of any note.I was watching a Prince documentary today and he named his studios Paisley Park in minnesota after the paisley underground movement.
Bewitched Wasn’t that the cute MILF who wiggled her nose?Absolute bollocks.
Never heard of Bewitched?
