The battle for 3rd place

That stoke game has really fucked us. Needed that win before the last 3 games which 2 points from is bobbins too. Just hope we strong a good run together now but with our home form in not overly hopeful. United win their game in hand and there's a point between us. They've been shite so that tells you the story. Roll on may
 
The fact we are discussing clinging onto top 4 with our squad and manager means one or both have massively underperformed....

I'll go with both!

Agreed. It was always going to a transition season; we were never going to sweep all before us. But to be scratching around for a top 4 finish, just like last season, is very disappointing given the calibre of player and manager we have now.

Might be the kick up the arse the club needs this. We have been going backwards for 3 years and whilst their have been glimmers this season, they have been too sporadic and this defending is fucking ridiculous. Easy goal after easy goal.
 
All results went as I expected apart from Liverpool who I had down for a win , which is a bonus

Three winnable home games in a row now which should go a long way to sealing our place

Oh and chelsea were fucking scared in that second half , another dour functional team from west London to go with the many produced by that Cnut mourinho
 
Two ways to look at this - Negative: United have drawn two home games on the bounce yet are a point closer to us. Positive: United have had two home games outside the top six whilst City have been away to two top 6 sides and are only a point closer to us.

Tonight's result a frustration but very far from a disaster.
 
I remember arguing with my mum last year when she wasn't happy I didn't stay and clap pellegrini. My quote to her was even with this squad Pep wouldn't be scraping 4th on the last game of the season. He's got the same squad with some real quality additions yet we are in the same position. Not a good season in any way what so ever.

We're fortunate in that our rivals are bottling it as much as us, and we've now got the "best" run in compared with Arsenal & United. Win our game in hand over Liverpool & we're 3rd.

Should still make it, but we're not making it easy.

Why? What makes you think that? Do these players inspire you to think they will put their bodies on the line when most of me will be going.

They don't inspire me. It's the same old shit week after week currently. Dejavu.
 
People need to wise up , the league was gone after the Everton debacle

Bar a major fuck up we will qualify for the CL and get to the FA cup final

We are so close to being a very good side , we have the will , manager and resources to put this right next season

Our record against the other erstwhile top 4 challengers isn't great, to put it mildly;
Arsenal: 4 points
Spurs: 1 point
Liverpool: 1 point
Chelsea: 0 points
Vermin: 3 points (1 game still to play)
Everton (at a stretch): 1 point

So, 10 points out of an available 33 so far. You can't be expecting to challenge for the title with that sort of return, notwithstanding some awful refereeing decisions.

we are fighting for 4th...no guarantees at all after tonight's results.

as bad as utd and arsenal are...they are 4 pts behind us with a game in hand so potentially one p
 
our problem, and it has been a problem thats been around for a good few seasons, is our inability to beat teams around us. we simply dont turn up often enough in the big games. this puts us at a major disadvantage when challenging for the title or even the top four. instead we often find ourselves relying on our nearest rivals to drop points. nowhere near good enough
