The best City performance you have ever seen?

Up there,my favourite was beating a great Chelsea team 2/1 in the pouring rain at the Etihad.
Carlos got the winner, and Shay saved a penalty from Frankie.
Saturday night game.

I would put last night's result second only to beating Man United 5-1 in 1989. That was an unbelievable day and I was gutted when Howard Kendall dismantled that team to replace it with a bunch of over the hill Evertonians. That game at least had a great referee, Neil Midgley, who handled the early crowd trouble well by taking the teams off briefly. He was a local man and I was upset to read that he passed away in 2001 at the young age of 58.

I hope that I do not have to wait another 27 years to witness an equally memorable performance - I might not make it that far :)

Beating the rags 1-0 in the semi final, that was so sweet. The Poznan when the stadium announced the rag team was to die for.

6-1? But considering quality of opposition - I agree.
Until the sending off in the 1-6 and even for a spell of ten minutes after, we let United have possession and even though we were working harder and were comfortable, we didn't do that much ourselves. Until we got the sniff of it and then uncontrollably made chance after chance.

Last night was superb. Some of the attacking play was amazing!

We were very good in some games in the first half of the 2011-12 season and 2013-14 seasons. 1-5 at Spurs, 0-4 at Blackburn; 4-0 v Newcastle, 4-1 v United, 6-0 v Spurs

Comparing performances from different eras is difficult & a little risky.

Last night we we magnificent for 70 minutes. However,lm going for the Schalke 04 semi final in 1970.

They were a very good side when German football was the best on the continent. Everyone of their players were seasoned internationals, and they were managed by the great Helmut Scherne, the national team coach.

CITY destroyed them with an outstanding display of 90 minutes attacking football & finishing. We were truely magnificent from first to last and Scherne described our performance as the finest he'd experienced from another club side.

A club with no history ?
Fully agree with this although it is a little difficult after so long to remember the detail. But most certainly that is one that still lives in my memory, was sitting in the Platt lane end stand that night.
But in the modern era last nights was the best football I have seen at a City game. In 325 last night

The 3-1 away at Sevilla was a masterclass. No English teams do well there and we totally bossed it.

My Father reckons the Charity Shield against West Brom in '68 is the best we've ever played

Not even our best performance against Chelsea! The 2-1 in the title run in was better!
