The best Hotel you've stayed in?

Purely for quality of the hotel it would have to be the Mandarin Oriental or Shangri La in Bangkok.

Honorable mentions to Raffles in Singapore and the E & O hotel in Penang.

I stayed here once http://hoteldel.com/ which is on the Pacific coast at San Diego. In fact it's featured on the California holiday advert.

The ice cream shop was worth the visit alone!

However it was a close run thing between there and 'Val's hotel' (full gas central heating) in Ardwick.

Bristol Hotel, Salzburg was top notch

New Ritz outside Dublin

We were due to stay at The Atlantis in Dubai last year as an incentive the team won, but that bloody Ash Cloud stopped that! By the time it was rebooked I'd move to another company

The hotel at La Manga. I used to play games with the staff. I'd keep going back to my room and mess up the bed sheets. Each time they came in after me made up the bed and left chocolates and Rose petals! Only did it for a day.
Only stayed there for 3 nights as we were staying with friends in a villa. Trouble was the villa wasn't finished and there was no water in the pool!! The La Manga hotel rescued our holiday.

The 5 star Grand Resort Lagonissi in Athens, Greesce which is listed as one of The Leading Hotels of the World in 2007

Next would be the 5 star Le Meridien Spa & Resort in Limassol, Cyprus in 2008

Although I have to be honest - I had 6 nights free accomodation at both as I was giving them circa 300,000 Euros of business LOL

When i was in the u.s.a. a while back i stayed at a place called the bates motel, not bad,the shower was a bit crusty and the guy at the desk a bit strange (which might have something to do with looking after his mother upstairs ),but apart from that a nice old place, check it out.
