Based on a point in another thread, a user posted that the EPL "is the best league in the world". Is it?

It's the one I have more interest in, because my club is in it.

But for me the bundesliga is hands down the best league in the world. Almost every game is sold out, the attendances are unbelievable. The atmosphere is amazing - colourful, loud and a right good piss up. The prices for the big games are often around 25-30euro - ideal. The actual race for the league title and european places is immense, similar to that of the championship.

The only thing the EPL has over the Bundesliga (apart from City of course!) is quality. For attendances, prices, atmospheres and general excitement the Bundesliga has to be the best league in Europe.

Here i'm slating it's quality, Bayern Munich made the champions league final last season, it's not as if it's poor quality. Just not as high as the EPL.

Next on my list would be the PL, then La liga with Serie A going further and further downhill each year.

Interesting view, I've really just gone by what everyone else says I only watch English and Spanish football and a bit of italian so I can't really say.

In what sense do you mean it's more competitive?

I watch quite a bit of the Bundesliga on ESPN and tbh I don't really rate the football that highly. Yes the crowds are colourful and noisy but the overall standard isn't that great IMO.

I don't see enough of La Liga to comment but I prefer Serie A to the Bundesliga.

On any given day and team can beat any other team but in the prem it tends to happen more than most - if you aint at it then you are likely to get beat - there are very few gimmies - look at what happened to Villa at Toon dont happen too often in other leagues where an established top 6 club get spanked. Also it is more physical with tends to even things up a little. The beautif football played by Barca would be dignificantly less effective and Messi would be on crutches for 5 months of every season.

Some would argue that makes the Prem worse.

I agree to an extent about the standard. But for general excitement it takes la liga to pieces. I know quality has a large part to play, but excitement and entertainment should be what football is all about. Fair point though, each to their own but i'd rather watch the likes of Schalke, Hamburg, Dortmund, Kaiserslautern, Munich, Bremen etc than Sevilla, Villareal, Mallorca, Deportivo, Athletico Madrid etc.

And i would be one of those but thats not the question - watched the Seville game yesterday almost fell to fookin sleep - the physical aspect of the prem does indeed tend to be a leveller and makes it more competative
