The best league in the world?

I can't believe there's actually a debate on this, everyone knows the Premier League is the best by far.

This 'the premier league is the best in the world business' is bollocks, it's just Sky propaganda to get you to buy their Sports pack, and since most of the market they cater for are English so it feels nice to be told that your league is the best in the world.

I'm not saying it's shit though by any means, it is certainly v. good and up there with La Liga as the top two. However La Liga just tends to be miles ahead tactically, with a more cultured and sophisticated game, while in the PL you still see teams relying on physicality and hoofball to make up for their lack of tactical know-how.

Behind those two in the pecking order you have the Bundesliga and Serie A. Serie A used to be miles ahead and level with England & Spain, but last 3-4 years has just got worse and worse. The Bundesliga for me is great, while the quality may be just a little lower than the top two, it is much more competitive and interesting to watch, a host of great teams like Bayern, Wolfsburg, Bremen, Leverkusen etc, and most importantly great for the fans (and doesn't do a bad job of producing a successful national side either). Then behind them you've got Ligue 1, which is alright but too focused on defence for my liking.

So I'd go for:
1. La Liga
2. PL
3. Bundesliga
4. Serie A
5. Ligue 1
6. Portuguese League
7. Eredivisie
8. Russian League

Based on a point in another thread, a user posted that the EPL "is the best league in the world". Is it?

It's the one I have more interest in, because my club is in it.

But for me the bundesliga is hands down the best league in the world. Almost every game is sold out, the attendances are unbelievable. The atmosphere is amazing - colourful, loud and a right good piss up. The prices for the big games are often around 25-30euro - ideal. The actual race for the league title and european places is immense, similar to that of the championship.

The only thing the EPL has over the Bundesliga (apart from City of course!) is quality. For attendances, prices, atmospheres and general excitement the Bundesliga has to be the best league in Europe.

Here i'm slating it's quality, Bayern Munich made the champions league final last season, it's not as if it's poor quality. Just not as high as the EPL.

Next on my list would be the PL, then La liga with Serie A going further and further downhill each year.

I remain unconvinced that the Bundesliga is quite as strong a league as the Premiership , or that there are as many good quality sides over there as there are here , and i'd question whether the overall standard of football is quite as good ....... but i do agree about the crowds .... the Germans really love their football , and not only do they turn up in magnificent numbers , but they are also really vocal too .....

but i think ANY German side would struggle against the likes of the rags , Arsenal or Chelsea , on most occasions .... and the piss-poor Bayern side that showed up at the Swamp the other year would have struggled to beat Chesterfield!

Although i enclose a 'word of warning' ..... for my money , Borussia Dortmund have some genuine top class quality within their ranks and could be a major threat should we encounter them in the Europa league this season.

Premier > La Liga > Bundesliga > Serie A

and Im spanish.
