The best league in the world?

Yes, I like the hurley burley of the EPL, the English game played at it's best.

I don't like the technical, slow, slow, slower, then slow, of the, er, purist Italian or Spanish leagues.

I like the English style, up and at 'em, and in terms of English clubs winning things in Europe, it's worked. So far.

Just to point out, Spanish and Italian teams have won more and been runners-up more for European trophies than English clubs. Although you could argue English clubs were hindered by being banned from Europe for five seasons, and Liverpool for six, Chelsea being barred from entry in 55-6, and the Munich air disaster in 57-8.

the epl was in danger of getting pretty predicrable with the sky 4 fighting it out between themselves every season, but now its about to smashed , with city and spurs making a fight of it, the epl is now getting better and better, so its number 1 for me
1.. epl
2.. bundesliga
3..la liga
4.. serie a ( this is the most boring to watch imo )
i actually quite like watching the scottish league, at least with rangers vs celtic and hearts vs hibs games they have two really competitive derby fixtures, but the standard can leave a lot to be desired at times

I would think that most fans would want to watch technically gifted players and an end product. There are many matches from all the leagues which DON'T match the criteria. Every European league is an almost forgone conclusion in terms of who's gonna win it, and you can see that the top four or so in each of the major leagues would be desperate to start a pan-European league, so every league has some of the quality fans might regard as 'best'. But if you look at some of the dross - BBurn, Wigan, Stoke (particularly last year), Burnley, Bolton - they cannot be regarded as 'the best in the world'. Each league has something different for each fan, and were you to cream off 'the best' into one European league, you might end up with something that, though containing the 'best teams' and possibly 'best players', might just be a dog's dinner.

La Liga - by a long way.

It really isn't. How many spanish clubs are there in the group stages of the Champions League?

Their second best team has done awful in Europe for years and aren't even in pot 1 for the draw.

The league is financially f*cked. Birmingham got more money last season than Valencia.
