Not my favourite VU era or album and one of the Stones’ better efforts, from a time when they were actually a serious band. VU gets my vote though.

Toughy again...after something akin to mediocrity in the last tie to this with 2 quality songs. The Stones just shade this for me

Stones by a margin that although large not large enough to be a slight on the oppositions efforts.

The Velvets- last album track from a great band. Billy Yule, the substitute drummers heroics.
Reed and Morrison, brilliant economy of style.
The Stones track is good and sort of announced their arrival, but their Jones-era peak was with Paint it, Black.

Absolutely mustard.

Easily their best tune imo.

That opening riff is just pure them.

That opening riff always confuses me with ‘Last train to Clarksville’s and vice versa.
