The Bosnian Diamond changed the game - Dzeko is the man

Re: Edin dzeko

How many minutes Dzeko played?

Kun last three games has not scored a goal, maybe a shoot on target about 4-5 times, but nobody criticizes. So Dzeko if not the first or second scorer, as in the Bundesliga (two seasons), then it is not good.

In Wolfsburg was the best scorer. true because the weaker league than the Premier League, but also because he ran to his goal, and forward and then back again. Loses too much energy due Mancini tactics.

Also, if you see how many balls he sent Silva, and it was unbelievable! Main midfielder to as high a player like Dzeko, sent a total of 4 times, maybe.

Re: Edin dzeko

Another Dzeko thread, can there be anything left to write about the man.

I'm gonna make a new thread entitled

Which City player has had the most threads about himself.

Re: Edin dzeko

I feel the real problem is he needs a fellow striker to link up with to be most effective in our team. Like in the beg. of the season when him and kun would link up brightly, already understanding each others movements. With Balotelli banned, hopefully Mancini will have to resort again to these tactics, as I felt they worked great to both kun and dxeko's advantages.

with dzeko its the amount of bad first touches that gets on peoples nerves
There is no doubting Dzeko is a decent enough player but the thing I have noticed with him is he struggles to do the basics well ie 1st touch, simple pass and so on, I also think the same with Kolorov

Dzeko was fucking dreadful the other night and has been a lot of games. He gets in the box and we create chances so he will always get goals, but he needs to be more like he was at Spurs away than what he's been like in too many performances for us this season. His all round play far too often isn't anywhere good enough and he loses the ball too much. Can be great on his day though so we'll see how he does til the end of the season, like all decent blues I'm right behind him

Dzeko was one of our better players vs Liverpool :S
I disagree on this point, sorry pal.

But overall I think he gets far too much stick, he is very much a confidence player and I am sure in his best form he could easily be our main striker (I think all 3 rotate depending whos in form). Im definately giving him at the very least till summer to regain his form

with stats like he's got first touch becomes irrelevant - might not be pretty but he's pretty effective - I do recall a certain Goat with similar abilities and he was venerated-
Edin lad you're doin' ok keep on working and you'll be a hero-
he is definitely carrying a knock- he is different moving now compared to the start of the season and after seeing what that thug adam did on Wednesday it is surprising he can even walk !

Re: Edin dzeko

Did anyone watch his abilities?
Shoots at goal 33.3% of the right foot, left foot 33.3%%, 33.3% of the head.

But he does not know to dribble. To take the ball in midfield and dribble 2-3 players and scores a goal. This does not mean to do. It is too slim for such a thing.
A Man in Citiy expected to do.

...he was flying, high on confidence, getting all the pundits and generally being hyped for being a greatly improved player from how he was last year.

Well, he missed out Hansen, Claridge, Burley, Waddle and Merson. Someone really should 'get' them. So he certainly doesn't deserve plaudits for that. ;o)

He's a very good player though and I'm hopeful that he will more than prove that before the end of the season.

Re: Edin dzeko

Dzeko's a good player just wrong for our style of play. He'd get 30 a season for United who get the ball wide quickly and then put dangerous balls into the box. Wednesday's goal was a perfect showcase of his talents. We play it to the feet of our front men and look for interaction between them and the 'wide' players, Dzeko's touch and agility aren't good enough to play like Aguero and Balotelli do.

all i know is,that if dzeko mishit his shot against spurs like aguero did in the first half and looked stupid hed be getting terrible abuse wereas aguero got nothing

dreadful, meh still got the goal, thats his job,not his fault we cant defend

Dzeko probably would get a bit more stick for spooning a shot than aguero, the reason being that Aguero doesn't spoon many whereas Dzeko does it regularly. I'm still not saying it's right though

As for 'dreadful, meh still got the goal, thats his job' well I expect a lot more from a striker than merely getting a goal and being pretty ineffective for the rest of the game. 1 goal does not justify 90 minutes on the pitch, so no, I wouldn't say he did do his job. It might not be his fault that we can't defend but maybe if he held the ball up a bit better there wouldn't have been so much pressure on the defence?

Was he? That's news to me.

Aguero is absolutely fantastic... but I'd love to see the stats for most 'missed sitters',,
Wouldn't be Edin I'm sure.
