The Boxing thread

Wilder v Fury I can see it happening being honest. I will always think for Wilder to fight Fury in December would be a great fight for Wilder to win. Then it makes the Wilder v AJ fight that even bigger and better. Fury I just dont know what i think. Is he fully back or is he just making a quick buck. He aint the most gifted but he is durable and will put up a great fight even if Wilder ends up getting the better and maybe even KOing Fury late.

Great entertainment on saturday its a shame the masses will have missed out because Eddie is a greedy **** trying to charge £20 for it.
I don't think Hearn is necessarily the evil here. It's sky's fault for having such a small budget for boxing. It means Hearn is responsible for paying the fighters, so 3 or 4 relatively high profile names on the card will unfortunately mean PPV, otherwise, the promoter is out of pocket

If Fury can get himself right, physically and mentally, he will go through the lot of them imo.
Not a chance. Not after a 3 year hiatus. If Ali or Tyson couldn't return to their peak after similar time out, Fury hasn't got a chance.

Besides, Wilder and Joshua would be more aggressive and active against Fury than Wlad was.

The problem is, we still don't really know what Fury's ceiling actually is. The Wlad performance was very good, but totally above and beyond any other performance. Was it just the fact that Wlad is naturally tentative that played into Fury's hands? Wlad is explosive when he is either forced to fight or is putting a man away after a one sided beat down. Fury didn't make him do either and I think the rounds just got away from him. Regardless, Wilder certainly won't be content with throwing only 20 punches a round - he averaged around 60 per round in his only 12 round fight to date, so you'd expect Fury to have to work much harder than he is comfortable with.

I think if you want an indication of how Fury would look under genuine pressure from a power punches, rematch the 12th round of the Wlad fight. Controversial thought but I've always felt it played a part in him not fancying the rematch.

Fury got battered in the 12th in that fight, once Klitschko knew he had to fight. The brothers Grimm had it too easy for too long and Fury managed to fluke an advantage. Joshua or Wilder would finish him. White and Parker would beat him.

I think Usyk destroys Ward. Too big throws too many punches for Ward to ever get comfortable.
I thought Ward would of been in trouble in his first fight against Kovalev because Kovalev is a hard hitter. Ward was put down in the second round I think but then bounced back and was sensational winning every single round after the knockdown. His second fight against Kovalev was an absolute masterclass.
I'd find it very hard to call both incredible classy fighters...I reckon it would go to points but who wins I can't call it.
