Mexican Butterbean is the champ. If you were going to put it into one sentence with a bow tying it off then simply Ruiz can take a punch better than Joshua. They both got smacked in the head but the Mexican chap just stayed ultra focused and pushed through. He seemed to recover better. No doubt those temple shots fucked Joshua up but that is the name of the game isn't it.
I am not an expert at all so may be talking crap but it looked to me like any rematch may end up the same. The dude was fast on the inside, to fast for AJ, i am not to sure besides jabbing him to death how he would beat him. AJ hit the fella hard a few times but it did not seem to affect him one bit really.
A question to those with a passion for pugilism! What will the USA promoters and such make of this, will they now have him labeled as "meh" or will he still have a chance there?
As a casual fan i half think AJ deserved that. All i have seen is a load of old nonsense regarding fighting Wilder etc. It may be all the promoters fault or even Wilder. The fact is it looks from the outside like he was dodging him or for whatever reason it didn't happen. After this loss people will start to think it is more AJ dodging than genuine stupid contract stipulations etc. I just don't think a Nigel Benn would have arsed around like he has, if the fight was on it was on. AJ seems to protected with his career being engineered to a degree that takes the passion away. He is like the English Ivan Drago hehe.
I wish him the best, it will be interesting to see what he does now.
