Great news but don't primetime already have the rights for the entire super 6 tournament? Or do you mean Froch's next fight after the super 6?
That is what I thought but both Hennessey and Froch would be mad to not try and get out of that contract if Sky come looking for him. Not a lot of people can get primetime if it wasnt for Shady and his links I wouldnt be able to see Froch. With Sky it opens up more money for Hennessey and Froch so is a no brainer.

Some great fights next weekend...

Amir Khan - Marcos Maidana

Victor Ortiz - Lamont Peterson

James De Gale - Paul Smith

Dereck Chisora - Wladimir Klitschko

Vic Darchinyan - Abner Mares

Yonnhy Perez - Joseph Agbeko

Plus...

Nathan Cleverly, Kell Brook, Mathew Macklin, Joan Guzman, Andy Lee and Jeff Lacy are all fighting. Looking forward to it...

Picks?

There will be a number of upsets on that card. Paul Smith for 1 is great odds to beat DeGale 7/2 wrong time to fight him and they should of went with Groves instead first defeat I think.
Khan to get beaten as well is great value in money first time he is in with a banger since the Presscot KO and he is 9/4 with Paddy Power 2 great bets at decent odds well worth a bet.
I would expect Macklin , Lee , Cleverly , Brock all to win there fights. As for the other fights Klitschko to win and Vic Darchinyan to win the rest I will sit on the fence for the moment but its a nice way to end the boxing year.

It should be a great night. I actually think it's probably worth the PPV.

As much as it pains me, I can't see Khan being beaten. I would love it though, can't stand the guy.

Wlad will school Chisora as well, hopefully the Haye fight will manifest itself.

It seems the big bang Willie Casey is on the verge of a World title shot after only 11 fights which has seen him go from Prizefighter winner to European Champion in the space of a year. Now it seems he will vacate the title to take on Cuban Champion Guilermo Rigondeaux mainly down to his Irish manager Gary Hyde who hopes to have the fight in Millstreet around Paddys Day. He has sorted out tv in the US with ESPN. He is in talks with Sky and RTE for the fight for Ireland and UK. This is some rise for Big Bang and is a bit too early for the lad if I am honest but the Big Bang has a punchers chance and is fighting in Ireland so you just never know.

Here is the full report.

Booooo, i like Khan. Much less annoying than Haye, Hatton and Calzaghe ever were/are.

Couple of Irish lads fighting in the next 2 days. Cant wait to have a look at brickfists Carl Frampton tomorrow night. The Jackal is up against Gavin Reid tomorrow night on Priemier Sports in the UK and Setanta Ireland over here. The lad is going places and will be a huge star in the making in the Super Bamtamweight division. I would expect him to be fighting for the British title some time next year. I would love to see Frampton in there with Scot Quigg now I honestly think he has the tools to beat Quigg now.

Then Saturday night on the under card of the Ricky Burns world title fight Stephen Ormond this lad has a lot of talent started out here for 2 fights then like most of the best Irish fighters headed off to the US for a year. Didnt take to life in the US but Warren came in to take him closer to home. Fighting at Lightweight maybe needs a bit more power to his game to get to the top but he is with the best promotor to get him all the way to the top.

Victor Ortiz who hasn't been mentioned is also fighting on the Khan undercard next week. Despite the Maidana loss I still rate him quite highly, he looked brilliant against Nate Campbell. He's facing a live opponent in Lamont Peterson.

Matt Macklin was on ringside tonight saying he wants Sergio Martinez next year. Not sure about that one tbh.

Lol, Martinez will kill him.

I think with Ortiz, he will always have the question mark over his heart and mental character after what happened with Maidana. Be a good fight with Peterson though. Suppose we'll get to see what Peterson's got aswell. First test since the Bradley fight. I'm guessing Sky will show this anyway.

I've put the Maidana thing down to youth tbh. I still think he's better than Maidana and I wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot at Khan next year. He's more than capable of mixing it with the elite at 140.

Maybe Macklin could get a fight with Paul Williams on his comeback trail, I dunno. He should worry about getting a world title first before taking on the big guns.

Yeah i think Macklin needs to get comfortable at world class level (if he can) before taking on the big guns.

Yeah i agree that Ortiz is better than Maidana. He'd have beaten him if he was a little smarter and less up for a tear up.

Mat Macklin has gone backwards since signing a deal with Warren. No doubt about it Macklin should of been fighting for a World title by now not pissing about at European level. I honestly think Mat will win a World title. The Martinez fight wont happen and I wouldnt think Warren will put him in with him. He should go after either Sebastian Sylvester , Felix Sturm or Dmitry Pirog first before going for a fight with Martinez those other 3 fights are all winable for Macklin.

Also on the undercard of the Khan fight a young Irish boxer will be fighting called Jamie Kavanagh he has been sparring up at the Wild Card gym and has been signed up by Golden Boy. This is a good thing for Irish fighters. Look at most of our world champions over the years the likes of Dunne and Collins had Freddie Roache in there corner at some stage. A great place for young fighters to be at. Him , Dean Byrne and to some extent Mat Macklin have been training with Freddie in the last year or so.

A little interview with Jamie talks a wee bit about sparring Khan and Manny.

I think Macklin should go for Pirog. He's being a little over-rated because of his KO of Danny Jacobs. I think it would be an exciting fight. I can't imagine him landing a fight with Sturm or Sylvester on nuetral territory, let alone getting home advantage.

It wouldnt bother him going to Germany to fight either Sturm or Sylvester both have been KO'd in Germany which Macklin will have to go over a do but with Macklins power he has a great chance to do so. What I dont want to see is Macklin wasting any more time at European level. So the Darren Barker fight can fuck off Mat is leagues ahead of him. There are big fights out there for Macklin were he can make huge money from. Be it against Irish fighters if Mat wants to break into the US a fight with either Lee or Duddy will get him on the radar over there. But he needs to get the World title shot he is too good for the level he is fighting at. If Warren has any sense he would be onto Strums people now for a fight he has a defence coming up in Feburary get Macklin in there with him. If not get Sylvester fight signed.

Hi lads have any of you seen Terry Flanagan fight?
My brother is mates with his old man, I was chatting to him the other day the lad has won all 9 of his fights and is managed by Frank Maloney. Spars a lot with Rendall Munroe and fights at Super Bantamweight.

Never heard of the lad done a quick check on boxrec and it showed up a Irish fighter who had 2 fights and 2 KOs defeats. Maloney seems to have the best Super Bamtamweights in the UK with Munroe and Jason Booth. This division if you include Irish fighters is a booming division. Tonight 1 of out better prospects is fighting at Super Bamtamweight the lad is going to go to the top if he keeps preforming the way he is Carl Frampton. Cant wait to watch his fight tonight he goes for his first title the Celtic title and has spared Booth in the past the kid has it all.

Bloody hell Leighton you are obsessed with Carl Frampton!
Only joking fella he sounds a prospect is he on YouTube?
I found a little on google about Terry Flanagan sounds a decent prospect.

The lad was on fire tonight he KO'D Gavin Reid in 2 rounds the lad is going places. This bloke if he doesnt win or fight for a World title then I know fuck all about boxing will try and get the fight off some of my sources and once it is up I will put it up on here. Gavin Reid only got beaten by Scott Quigg by a KO in the 9th round. Frampton was so good tonight even Steve Bunce said he could already beat a host of the top Super Bamtamweights in the UK and Ireland the only 2 at the moment he thinks are too good at the moment are Munroe and Booth. Give the kid 5 to 7 fights and he could well be in there with the top fighters of the UK and Ireland. The lads going to the top trust me. I gave the lads the inside scoop on Casey about Prizefighter whoever I talk to they have nothing but glowing praise for the bloke.

The only fight on youtube was his last fight nice short fight.

Short film about Khan's preparations for the Malignaggi fight. Seems like a down to earth kid to me. I prefer him to Haye anyway.
