The Boxing thread

Funny how it's always the ones who've never laced the gloves up who always have something to say about professional boxers.

2 elite level Olympic gold medallists. If you can criticise either of these men, make sure you've achieved 1% of what they have in life.
I agree with this Rodrigan. AJ has been beaten twice by the better fighter. AJ threw the harder punches last night but was outboxed.

To have achieved Olympic gold, world title belts and multiple defences is still a great achievement. There’s a lot of people
Judging AJ as though he should be a heavyweight version of Maywewther. He’s done well for his abilities IMHO.

I hope there is a Usyk Vs Fury fight. That should be a great contest.

Not how criticism works though is it? If it worked how you think it should then this forum shouldn't even exist as I doubt very many on here have played professional football at the highest level. No one should say if they think a movie they watched was shit without having made their own Hollywood movie first. See how silly that gets?
This forum would flourish without the “Blues” who make it a hobby to target individual
ciry players with criticisms, regardless of their performance. They have to come on here because the constant moaners are very much in the minority in the ground these days.

I'm unsure if you are being sarcastic to be honest?

He wasn't class, He was improved from the first fight. He got outclassed for the entire fight apart from Round 9 which was the only round he won all night.
I’m guessing all the judges gave AJ the 2nd and 3rd rounds but I haven’t seen the scorecards.

Was it the 9th round where he actually put it on Usyk? That was the style that catapulted him to the position he's in then I think vs Joseph Parker he truely stopped that and started ignoring the physical advantage he has over every oppo and instead tried outboxing them instead and he's been on the slide since. His persona has changed with it too, just a full bellend now.

Anyway, up Usyyykkk

Couldn’t agree more about the style change. I’d say it started with the Takam fight. That win against Klitschko should have been a career defining performance that pushed him on to domination but something else happened after that fight. I remember seeing an interview he did around that time and it was sports’ science this, and technique that, he started to overthink it and as you say, abandoned what got him there. By the time he fought Parker he was a shadow of that fighter. Been badly advised too at times. Trying to knock out a 20st man in Ruiz, then trying to outbox Usyk doesn’t compute.

As you say, well done to another Oleks, doing his country proud.

I have never had any time for the horrible ****,but after watching that post fight cringworthy debacle....i have to think he isn't wired right - a combo of huge punches to the head and years of heavy gear use has probably seen to that.

The fella needs better people around him,he clearly needs help, otherwise i only see a spiral.

Fair play to Usyk,a great and deserved champ.
AJ’s credibility has just gone up.
