The Boxing thread

Possibly but everyone knocking the boxers of today - in 10 years or so people will look back at Usyk/AJ/Fury/Parker/Wilder as a golden generation
That's the worrying part though isn't it, People will see the above as the "Golden Generation". Pretty grim reading compared to the previous heavyweights which we all watched.

At the end of the day, These fighters are always going to take the money fights and in a way can we blame them? They'll do what's best for themselves and their family especially to make sure that their kids will be fine financially growing up. I don't see anything wrong with that at all.

From the other side of things it's fights that "boxing fans" don't want to see, I've never seen so many boxing fans that aren't in touch with the sport like now.

Each to their own anyway.

Are we really saying Fury v Joshua wouldn’t be a huge sporting event and up there with the biggest fights of all time ?

That’s my point.
I don’t know if everyone is saying that but I would personally.
Not a chance that match up compares to some of the past greats.
It’ll be huge for today obviously as there’s so few decent match ups out there in the heavyweight division.
Doubt Fury wins his next fight tbh so might not ever be a serious option anyway.

It would be the biggest of this generation, but it’s probably not in the top 10 heavyweight fights of all time.

I’d very much disagree and say it would probably be the biggest fight since Tyson Holyfield.
How could it be proven ?
I’d say it would be potentially the most viewed fight of all time worldwide
