The Boxing thread

Don't know how anyone can dislike Chisora. Sure he's a cock but he's great value and often in proper scraps.

Does anyone know if Haye has ever sparred Takam?

Takam has 2 weeks notice to fight Joshua, and Joshua struggled against him.
I think what you meant to say was he struggled to get him out of there which is true, he's a tough guy though. Joshua won every round against Takam it wasn't even close, plus he only had 2weeks notice of his opponent himself, Whyte had a full camp and was losing the fight up until the knockout.

This was a much better fight to be fair though, Chisora sure has some balls on him.

Its crazy that the Whyte v Parker fight is on box office the card is poor. Its a Fight night card. Taylor in a title defence hardly any 50-50 fights which is sad. I will say it again some fighters just aint PPV and Whyte aint.

This didn't age well ;)

Some mega knockouts.

The fight was also a controversial stoppage. Why did Joshua only have 2 weeks, wasn't he training to fight someones else, but that was called off. Surely you mean he had 2 weeks to prepare for Takam? Genuine question.

Yeah it did turn out to be a good card but some of the non PPV ones do too. Wont begrudge Chisora getting some extra bread for that performance though, he earned it.

Yeah it was a bad stoppage to be fair but that wasn't the point Joshua won every round so you can't say he struggled. What we can agree on is it wasn't a great fight compared to this one.

I already edited that post before you replied to be clear, yes I meant two weeks notice of his opponent(pretty important against a totally different style of fighter who can make it awkward), also Takam was on standby training for a fight a couple of months after in Monte Carlo(arranged by Hearn) you could tell by the shape he was in, so two weeks for Takam isn't accurate either.

Hopefully this will be a cracker too. I reckon Whyte as well.

Been a cracking evening of boxing, thoroughly enjoyable.

Takam keeps himself in shape regardless, that's something they've talked about all night. I didn't think Joshua was that great against Takam, but as you rightly say, he was winning every round. I think I have struggled to enjoy AJ's last two fights, but he's got the job done - can't knock 'em all out, I guess.

This is a 50/50 fight for me, thought Parker didn't get nearly enough credit for his performance against Joshua. He's never going to be an easy opponent for anyone with his skillset.

Maybe so but he would have been in camp for the fight in Monte Carlo, you can google it if you don't believe me, no opponent was named but it was smart move from Hearn either way. Must have seen what happened with Povetkin coming.
