The Boxing thread

I've followed everything mate that's why I don't buy the hype you're obviously a GGG fan but he's going to need more than power... look at Canelos record he isn't scared of him one bit, Trout, Mosley, Cotto, Mayweather(his record pisses on GGG's there's no argument). He's 34y.o and he's only had the same amount of fights Canelo had at 21, the hype annoys me a bit because so much is glossed over... like I said it will make for a good fight but there's no way he "destroys him" he's too good for that. GGG is heavier and hits hard... but he's not the better boxer no way jose as they say in Mexico and he can get knocked out trust me... watch the Kirkland knockout that could be your boy. What I find funny about the fanboy arguments for him ducking is GGG said there's no way he will fight at 155lbs, I mean that's not a huge step from 160 I know it makes a difference but if the shoe were on the other foot... Plus don't pick a few fanboys on your favored forum, the hardcore fans know different than the casuals who jump on whats hot. I rate GGG but more respect needs to be given to Canelo.
A over the hill Mosley and Cotto? Trout I don't even think he won that fight they were some appaling scorecards. Also, you're acting like Kirkland is some elite fighter, watch a KO by GGG and that could be Canelo. Canelo has a title at 160, yet fights at 155??? What weight class is 155? Fight at 160 or vacate.

That link I sent you isn't some fan boys, it's a boxing forum that discusses everything about boxing. Canelo being Mexicans has way more fans than GGG and even they are turning on him. The truth is like I said the vast majority of fans believe that Canelo is scared. Canelo is the champion at 160, please tell me why he won't defend it at 160 if he comes in fight night at 175 plus? One day it's about the weight, one day he says GGG has to earn his shot. He's already his mandatory why not fight him?

They've sparred before and even though it's just sparring I think Canelo was put off GGG after that. Obviously though, you'll defend him fighting a blown up welterweight?

I visit lots of boxing sources you were acting like you're letting me in on some secret lol. His record still pisses on GGG's name me what you consider better on his record than the ones you picked out I mentioned. Mosley has been in some wars he's a good test for anyone, Cotto isn't over the hill physically(I rate Cotto most boxing hardcore fans do too) and he certainly didn't look it in the fight he was well prepared for that by Roach there's just nowhere for him to go now sadly...

You mock Kirkland(a little harsh on him IMO he'd only had one loss before and he'd been down but nobody had knocked him out like that before) and then tell me to look at GGG's knockouts against even lower ranked fighters. The reason a lot voted it for the knockout of the year was more that it displayed why Canelo is considered among the elite, the skill, timing, power... knowing that was the right shot to pick out it all came together and it was executed beautifully.

I don't see the Khan fight as anything but capitalizing on it while there's money to be made on it, you can think he's scared if you like(seriously please look at his record nearly 50 fights 1 loss to #1 P4P at 25y.o the guys a fighter people like that don't work that way) but what I see is the fight WILL happen no question the question is only when? They are trying to do what Mayweather used to do drag it out until the fans are literally throwing their money at them for it to be made like he did with Pacman, thank Golden Boy Promotions boxing is all about money I don't like that part of it but I understand how it is.

Money has ruined the sport, on that I agree. I also agree that Canelos record is better but GGG has beaten everyone they've put in front of him. It's not his fault nobody wants to fight him. Cotto already ducked him. Time will tell if they do fight and we shall come back to it at such a time :) it's too late now goodnight mate.

Yeh I agree GGG's not to blame for lack of elite fights like I said I rate him they are both pretty likeable IMO Canelo doesn't duck though(he has no 0 to protect) it's business and not in his control, night mate.

Totally agree Canelo wants no part of GGG. I love Canelo, but lost so much respect for him with all this catchweight business "I'm not a middleweight" well vacate the title and drop a pound down to 154 then. If Canelo wants to fight at 155 thats fine but dont drag your opponent down from 160 too. Never mind the fact that once he rehydrates Canelo is as big as most super middles come fight night.

Have you actually followed anything of what's gone on? There's too much to write in one post obviously but Canelo is clearly ducking. The vast majority of boxing fans agree that Canelo is scared and wants to part of GGG.

Have a read of this will show you what boxing fans think. GGG is definitely the harder puncher, yes his competition hasn't been on the top level but there's a reason nobody wants to fight him.

As they did mayweather from Pac, that was a crock of shit too.... It's dictated by maximising the revenue, putting them together now would be bad business... Canelo would be the stronger of the two physically, but GGG is no mug, however, taking him apart? Lol

Seen as Canelo has been ordered to fight GGG next or vacate the title, we'll know after the Khan fight whether Canelo's ducking or not.

IF the fight was to materialise, I'd be siding with GGG for sure.

Looking forwards to the Crolla defence on Saturday. I'd like to see him and Turbo Terry fight one day. A proper battle of Manchester with our man coming out on top.
