@leighton I still think there's money to be made in a rematch with Quigg and I actually think a rematch would be great. Frampton would be the favourite but it would be good to see, especially considering how much the first fight caught fire over the last half. obviously Quigg needs to bounce back with a good win or two but there is definitely money to be made especially if the fight was on Sky Box Office as part of maybe an AJ card.
His other options hardly seem that lucrative really. He'd receive a bigger split of the purse against Santa Cruz in a rematch, but other than that, Rigo and Russell Jr are very difficult to win and also probably not very financially rewarding. I do think the Selby fight is a natural fight to make. I actually think a bit down the line, Josh Warrington at Elland Road is a very easy payday for someone with the profile of Frampton.
Look at the PPV numbers that Frampton v Quigg done if they were big then the fight could happen. No one cares for Quigg even if you put him in a rematch with Frampton who on the night was drained by the loss of weight. Also Hearn knows the numbers where bad for it so a rematch on PPV with Quigg is dead in the water. Carl has other offers than a rematch with Quigg what makes Quigg deserving of a rematch. Santa Cruz yeah i could see it but Quigg no. Quigg has to come back from the injury and fight at least 2 fights before getting in with Frampton. I think Carl can just go on and fight the bigger fights now than Quigg who was handed the title in the first place and never won it. Also is Quigg moving up?? I dont think he is and why would he deserve a rematch he got beaten in Manchester and was too scared to do anything for near enough 8 rounds. It was a bore fest Carl had to prove he is a exciting fighter a fight with Quigg will be like the last fight same result. Also Quigg if he moves up who out of the top 10 would he beat. He could have some big time fights if he wants them still at Super Bantamweight with Kid Galahad and even Jamie McDonald if he moves up. Both fights I think Quigg losses in my opinion.
As for the fight being on a AJ undercard you have no chance of it being on a AJ card money talks granted but if Hearn wants Frampton on a AJ card he will have to give Carl double the money he gave him for fighting Quigg. Carl still has the options opened to him on both sides of the Atlantic. As for Warrington in Leeds what makes you think Carl would fight Josh in Leeds when they could do somewhere in Belfast. Also thinks that Selby will do the Warrington fight then fight Carl early next year or the summer of next year. Could nearly see both guys boxing on the same card in the US against different fighters then meeting up later in the year. Carl named dropped Russell Jnr and Selby and the rematch I dont mind either way if he fights any of those 3 next. Also we dont know if he will have to have a mandatory fight first.
