The Boxing thread

Mark it was a dogshit show from 2 dogshit boxers and all designed to make each other rich and even richer come the rematch as Bellew wont go near Joshua or anyone else for that matter.

As I say, it was all meant to be over by 2 rounds - instead it wasn't. Two fighters gave it all they got and the underdog won. That will do me as a non boxing fan.

I thought Haye would knock him out in the 1st so this fight far exceeded expectations - Credit to Haye for battling through that and Bellew especially as the underdog giving a fine composed performance

Composed would of been backing off and jabbing Hayes nose into his chin, instead he took risks and could have easily ended up on the canvas himself... far from composed

Some harsh words here. Haye was getting on top when he got injured, don't reckon it would have lasted much longer. Bellew was punching a sitting duck for 6 rounds and I don't believe he hurt Haye once, there's no way he can have another fight at heavyweight. Haye looked physically good and even in the 11th he showed no signs of being hurt except for his leg, even the knockdown was his knee buckling.

The weird thing was that Haye definitely said to his corner at the end of the 6th that his knee had gone, so I don't know why they strapped his ankle. I suppose you always have to give the winner credit but this was pretty dire from Bellew. He boxed very smartly in the first round, catching Haye flush with a couple of counters and seemingly he had a good gameplay but he was poor there after and Haye was winning by two and going well in the 6th when the injury happened imo.

Eddie Hearn and Sky would even promote a Bellew fight with this guy...
