Groves looks finished to me his punch resistance has gone his legs went a couple of times during the fight tonight but well done to Smith who boxed really well and deserved the victory .

Never heard of him. Probably last watched boxing on ITV when Benn and Eubank were at it. Dunno if that excuses me :)

Also wanted to say Callum Smith comes across as a nice humble bloke, especially for a scouser. He'll make a much better champion than Tony Bellew.

I've met Groves. He used our gym the week before the Eubank fight. He's a proper down to earth lad, very respectful when he didn't really have to be.

Long story short, I was a fat old fart finishing a few rounds move around, he stood waiting til we'd done. He waited til we'd got out, asked if we'd done, and dìd we mind if he used the ring. Then he even stood for a few photos before he got to work. He was a world champ a few days away from defending his title. Can you imagine Khan, Degale, Froch, etc etc doing that?

What was it like watching him work close up

It was fight week so he was only going through a bit of shadow & some technical stuff on the pads.

Josh Taylor was in there with them though. He's got it all. Seeing his speed and punch variety was quality, very lucky to see it really.

Well done to Callum Smith in beating George Groves. I feel sadly for George maybe it is the time to hang them up the shoulder injury is so hard to come back from no matter how bad it is. Look at David Haye once the shoulder goes your not throwing at 100 per cent and are a bit tentative as you are thinking will my shoulder be ok to go full force and give everything.
Congrats to Smith is was a good stoppage in a close fight i had it level going into that round.
