The Boxing thread

Has he called him a 'big dosser ' yet?...could give him the edge.

Usyk bangs 6 bells out of tysons ribs and stops him inside 5.

Is fury still retired ?

So I, finally, got to watch the 'controversy' involving Joshua...

What the fuck was wrong with it? He's analysing in real time, dealing with frustration in himself and in all he's believed in, going into that fight. He realised his strength is not enough. he realised he has heart and determination, but not compared to the adversity he compared Ukraine champions to in the time they fought and reeled off those names.

He had the balls to wear his heart on his sleeve in a defeated moment. It was every kind of emotion he could feel in 5 mins.

It was real and full of humility, not platitudes.

Chin up and be proud, big man, chin up and be proud.

Congratulations to this fellow Blue, Anthony Pythian, on his latest victory vs Ben Thomas in Bolton, Saturday gone.

Onwards n upwards...

The only real problems i had with it were he took away from Usyk's moment, but it's one of those heat of the moment things and he couldn't stop himself - someone should have helped him out from his team. The other one was taking the belts from Usyk's team and throwing them out, that was not on and i think he would probably agree. But i pretty much agree with you mate.

When you look at usyk and his career after 20 fights he was undisputed cruiser and now one belt away from undisputed heavyweight all in 20 fights . He will go down as an all time great .

The thing you see after he loses (the pain) he should be taking that into the ring before the fight
make it ugly, dirty, put your weight on him, tie him up, do anything it takes to win.

AJ is not a born fighter (boxer) he has been programmed to box. The angry guy, let's say the hulk, say's don't make me angry, well get fucking angry AJ go and knock them out leave them flat on their backs, because I can say 1000% the others go into the fight with that attitude against you

Come on ?? He's had 4 fights at heavy weight and all the sort of boxers that suit him
Tyson Fury is a different beast, a boxer that's got all the tricks in the book and also one hell of a lump

In his 20 fight he unified the cruiserweight divisuon and now after stepping upto heavyweight after 4 fights he owns 3 of the belts and this is in 20 fights . Anyone ever come close to that ?

I agree with all of that, but with his team, there's clear no mentor there. They didn't want to be in line of that Joshua fire.

He needed a Cus D'amato consoling him, then breaking him down to build him up. Like others have said he's had terrible people around him and, for me, trainers that never grew or adapted, stunting Joshua's potential growth for the longest time before he changed things up.

I agree with you and Joshua, by his end reaction and post match reaction, agrees with you.

It's a well pathed career, so far
but like I said, Witherspoon Chisora and Joshua twice, all 3 of them pretty much same as, they find it hard to get around the ring chasing a smaller guy ? I call them one-step boxers, very heavy on their feet but have that big shot if you let him hit you,

Usyk vs Tyson if it happens is a different kettle of fish and Tyson as got speed and movement and has a dirty side and will gab him and tie him up, my bet would be Tyson wins within 7 rounds

I think he stayed with Rob mcracken too long. He's a good coach, but he covers the whole of the British boxing team so it's hard to get time with him, surely.
I also read that the reason mcracken was sacked by AJ was because he didn't tell him he was losing the first fight. Well the new guys told him he was winning as well. You only have to see the Leon Edwards fight to see what telling your fighter the honest truth can do.
