The Boxing thread

Povetkin was lucky to beat Huck I thought it was a draw. 15 minutes until Broner vs Perez. I am hoping Perez can pull an upset.

A great American card last night Broner looked a class act. In the way he won. Also Alexander up in weight beating Maidana was the best preformace I have seen from him in a long long time. The Wealterweight division has some good fighters in it at the moment.

Big card from both sides of the atlantic tonight. Brook v Hatton and Marthinez v Macklin it should be a good nights of boxing. Got the beers out for a quaility nights of boxing starting at 9pm on Sky. Good card in Shefield with Frampton on the under card.

Is brook worth a bet to win by ko? Looked good when I've seen brook Hattons never really impressed me its 11/10 for brook to win by ko,tko, td or dq

Brook to win on points for me

Can see both fights quite similar with Brook and Martinez winning on points against two pretty durable opponents, but either will do well to force a late stoppage in my opinion.

Frampton ? A comfortable win, not seen anything of Ankrah, looking at his record on face value it looks good, but look more deeply and it looks well padded out with plenty of fighters on big losing streaks, very inexperienced or a combination of both, really can't see him having too much trouble with this one at all.

Think it will go to the cards. The Jackal is up next should be a good fight. Im not too sure about the lad he is fighting the Ghanians can be durable and decent in my view. Done the Jackal to win in Round 5 got 7/1 on it.

Also just looking at my bets I done Hatton by mistake to beat Kell which wont happen got 6/1 was going to do Macklin to win against Marthinez hopefully he does it Irish boxing can do with a boost.

yeah yeah, we all know your dog bangs you out twice a week at least.

Quigg avoiding Frampton. Quigg aint going to win against Munroe. Munroe will beat Quigg. His team have been offered the fight time and time again and his team dont want it. Kiko won last week. Expect Kiko v Frampton in Belfast for the European title in the Summer. The lad he was in with tonight isnt the best but Carls power is top class. He is more than ready for the main players in the UK and Europe. I can see why Ricky is putting Quigg and Munroe together both of them his fighters its a no brainer for him the winner of that will more than likely fight the winner of Kiko v Frampton by September or October. Frampton needs to be pushed along and we wont see his real quailty until he fights Kiko or Munroe can box and can bang. I remember seeing him fighting in many Irish Nationals and in his weight division in Ireland there was some brilliant am fighters. Quiggs poor preformance last time out has put Ricky in a position were he has to see about Quigg before putting more cash into him. The Jackal is on the rise.

Hope's performance was incredible. I got a nice payday off of it as well with the live betting odds being so wide.

My word Naseem Hamed is fat as f'k now.

-- Sat Mar 17, 2012 10:56 pm --

Just can't see Hatton lasting long here at all.

I think it will go to the cards mate. Hatton went the distance when he boxed for a World title against Saul Alvarez. I think Kell will win it but he will be doing well to KO Hatton early in my view. It wouldnt shock me if he did get a late stopage but just cant see it tonight.

-- Sat Mar 17, 2012 10:58 pm --
