The Boxing thread

Them froch losses really destroyed Groves. He was technically better than Froch in those fights but Froch can outgun anyone once the fight becomes scrappy. That's what impressed me so much about Andre Ward, he really made Froch look so average when they fought.

Thats why whoever he decides to go with to trian him up is key. Picks the wrong trainer and he is 1 defeat away from retiring. Out of whats there he has a big choice to make sooner rather than later i expect him to be fighting early next year.

Callum Smith I can see giving DeGale trouble but, at this point, Groves' confidence must be shot? Lost 3 of his last 5 fights (albeit one was iffy against Froch, although he was definitely in all sorts of trouble when it was stopped). Seems to lose his head and turn too many fights into scraps, where a lucky shot can take you out. DeGale is better than when he lost to Groves previously, I'm not sure Groves can say the same.

Agree with this, Groves's confidence must be rock bottom and I just can't see him making it back to the mental place he was in prior to the first Froch fight. Unless he can sneak a shot at a vacant super middle world title somewhere along the line, I can't see him taking any of the current super middle champions belts from them.

In my opinion the worst possible thing he could do would be to fight Callum Smith. In my opinion Smith riding high on confidence would steam Groves and he would have nowhere to go after that, can't help get the feeling he has thrown his chance at every being a world champion the way things are looking currently.

Is there a bigger mouthpiece in world boxing than David Haye?

Some fucking cheek on him to call Fury out on ducking fights (2 DAYS after dethroning Wlad in Germany, by the way) after how much he messed Fury about.

Piping up after someone else does what he never could or will do. Would absolutely love to see Joshua spark him next summer.

Tyson will never fight haye, he means it when he says he hates that twat. That **** Haye cost Tyson £5 million and set his career back a year.

Groves mentioned last week that he's looking to return in mid January, my guess against a top 10 ranked opponent. I'm led to believe he's teamed up with Rob McCracken (Froch's old trainer), sensible move in my opinion, he will take him back to basics and instill some confidence in him again.

I see maybe 2 or 3 fights bedding in, look good in them and it could well be a showdown with Smith or DeGale this time next year. Wish the bloke all the success in the World, felt he was robbed in the first Froch fight.

I think Haye if his shoulder is good will be in some big fights. Injuries happen in the build up to fights even look at MMA and Jose Aldo he pulled out of a few fights because of injuries its the nature of the beast. For Fury to rule out both Haye and Wilder is crazy. I know he has a rematch clause and if Wlad wants a fight it will happen first but after that its up to him. Heard him on Irish radio he wants to headline at the Rags and fight in Croke Park too. For those fights he needs to fight a exciting fighter. I think that with time he will take on those big big fights he be mad not to as thats were he will make all his money.

Now for any fighter who is British there is huge fights out there in a All British clash. The money will be made for both to make millions. The Quigg v Frampton fight is peanuts , compared to a Khan v Brook fight, even Crolla v Terry Flanagan too. Then add in many more fights all these all British fights will happen its a matter of time. All these fighters are seeing others getting the big pay day so they are hoping for the same.

Fury will surely take a fight first and make him wait for the rematch until the latest possible moment. klit will not want to risk another fight so he will be that much older and rusty for the rematch
Apparently it is an immediate rematch clause which states he must fight Klit again TBH i cant see why Tyson wouldnt do it in the Spring as i reckon he has got Klit's number and i feel the outcome will be the same.

Never realized that he must have been quite unsure about the outcome to have that as a clause
Klit can only be in it for the cash as I don't see how he comes back from that defeat he looked old and quite toothless

Anyone who knows their boxing. Would fury beat Joshua?

Not saying I am an expert but for what it is worth I think Joshua is the real deal and whilst needing more experience he really can dig and I think if Fury beats Klit again I can't see him wanting to get into a ring with Joshua any time soon

Joshua needs more fights. It's clear as day he has the potential to be a special fighter but so far he's just fought walking punching bags. It's not his fault he can only beat what's in front of him but he's not even been properly tested yet.

I hope Joshua gets knocked clean out , This sky love in for a convicted drug dealer is nauseating

Is their any point having a rematch clause if Fury goes off and loses belts in the mean time? Think about it. Wlad and Vitali always had these clauses as insurance as they held the power and Wlad still does until the after the rematch. I just can't see after such a poor fight with little skilful boxing is Wembley really sensible? The Macron and Channel 5 would be more prudent.

Fury should fight David Price in a guaranteed knock out fight.
