Tough night for George Jupp, Berchelt hits hard and showed his difference in class. Fair play to Jupp for taking the fight at 8 days notice after Martinez bust his hand in training.
Junior fights Blackwell on the 26th - really looking forward to that one, Nick's maturing well and I think he troubles Eubank just with sheer volume.
I think it's a joke that Burns gets anywhere near a world title fight albeit a pretend one. What's he done at 140 to justify any kind of title fight ffs ? He's been shot for two years.
Burns is definitely lucky to get another shot but fighters get lucky all the time. Not world class but always enjoy watching him fight. Crawford was class that night and a sign of things to come.
'Bang Bang' & Jnr is a really interesting fight, Eubank could be in for a tough night if he takes Blackwell lightly and starts showboating. Nicks already been in with Murray, BJS, and lost but that was earlier in his career, i think he's come on a treat since then.
Is Hennessy Promoting that fight? Notice it aint on Sky not too sure if he has sorted out his deal with channel 5 yet.
Lemieux v Tapia on Canelo Khan undercard. Should be fun while it lasts.
Some good fights coming up for British and Irish fighters in the coming weeks.
Kel Brook back next week
Then the April looks like the month were a lot of fighters are in top fights for World titles or elminators
Broner v Theophane is a big fight for Theophane on April 1
The SKy card on the April 2 looks good.
Callum Smith v Mohoumadi
Rocky Fielding v Rebrasse
Scotty Cardle v Sean Dodd ( fight of the night )
April 9th
AJ V Martin
Goves on the undercard
Lee Selby v Hunter
April 16th
Josh Warrington v Amagasa
Stuart Hall v Guerrero
Stephen Smith v Jose Pedrazza
Gary Russell Jnr v Pajo Hyland
Its going to be the best month for boxing in a long time for a lot of fighters.
Also got Manny v Bradley & Abraham v Gilberto Ramirez on April 9th in vegas. Looks like Pacman's final swan song, shame it's against Bradley again.
I hope Ashley Theophane teaches Broner a lesson, he's just a gob on a pole.
I'm still not completely sold on Josh Warrington, technically good and phenomenon energy levels but lacks punch power for me, as he moves up in class he'll be in with some big hitters and can see him coming unstuck in a trade off. Hope im wrong and the kid cleans up.
When Matchroom were over in Dublin for the Macklin fight. Pajo Hyland who is now fighting Gary Russell Jnr basically was begging for him to fight Josh Warrington or Lee Selby. Eddie is just milking Josh Warringtons fanbase there dry. Think he lacks the power to win a world title and without that he is a limited fighter. You could nearly say the same about Lee Selby but Selby has the better boxing skills. I honestly think Warrington v Selby if both win there fights will be made this summer late summer. A big earner for both guys to fight each other and if the rumours of Frampton v Santa Cruz is right it could lead Selby in with the winner for a unification fight later in the year early 2017 really rate Selby highly.
