Haha I don’t do TV but my biscuit eating is phenomenal (I say while reaching for the Peek Freans chocolate assortment).
And I’m not miserable about it - what would be the point?
I’m just highly amused by the chest beating from those who fail to appreciate that this German / Greek conglomerate
- takes tax money from us (money taken from poor people that could, for instance, save the lives of good folk if put into the NHS).
- has the enshrined power to vet our laws before they are enacted so that they can insert clauses that exclude them from obeying said laws (and have done over 150 times during the last reign to excuse them of our laws in both their royal and private capacities - hence why they can be barbarically cruel to animals on their private estates, why they don’t follow employment laws or pay due taxes etc.) Yes they are and continuously act above the law.
- makes what we wrongly refer to as ’our’ police and ‘our’ armed forces swear allegiance to them personally, and not to the British people (yes, when push comes to shove our police forces are effectively a private police force for the royals and the armed forces that we pay for is in fact private army with it’s mission being their protection, not ours).
There’s nothing I can do about it except laugh at the perverse stupidity of it all - and anyhow, set against the context of us being so stupid that we‘re busy destroying our planet and wiping ourselves out, it just pales into insignificance . .
Must admit that I am a bit peeved that the football got cancelled though ;-)

Conversely, I’m amazed that less than 50% want to have some Germans ruling over us, especially at a time where we’re being bombarded 24/7 will pro-monarchy propaganda.
I‘m not really that arsed either way but I think the pro-Charles the whatever fervour will subside dramatically when the propaganda diminishes and everyone remembers he was Jimmy Saville‘s best mate (and Rolf’s) and brother to one of Epstein’s clique who claims he can’t sweat and who recently forked out £12million to a girl he didn’t know and never met to make a claim of sexual abuse of a minor go away.
Each to their own though.
They’re not Germans. Born and bred here fella last time I checked. German ancestry (plus others) but unless you’re a fully paid up member of the National Front I can’t see how that would mither you.
We’re mostly all 45th generation Romans anyway. Except the gingers.
Do you mean; wake the funk up?Nah, lots more, ye just need to realise it.
Good English surname in Windsor too. They’re not Germans. Born and bred here fella last time I checked. German ancestry (plus others) but unless you’re a fully paid up member of the National Front I can’t see how that would mither you.

Less of that nonsense, there are some people who you can't call British/English and there are some people you can.
It doesn't matter that your Father your Grandfather and your Great Grandfather Father were all born in Britain :)
I live in a small village and unless you’ve got a relative named on the war memorial you’re not welcome in the pub. Fortunately Mrs MB does….as well as 6 fingers but it’s a small price to pay for being able to have a pint.
It’s surprised me too, but I’ve also found it very interesting.I'm not sure it would be that easy. Or would even necessarily get anywhere. There are lots of things the majority of the country doesn't want, but still happen.
But I'm not actually saying it is ' impossible', obviously. Just that it isn't a choice to make, as presented in that point. Not in a 'we have no choice' type of way in the slightest, more that it isn't a thing that is in motion in any way.
Agree that the majority are happy with the monarchy, and I have to admit this thread and the Queen's death one have surprised me with the number of opinions against it.
