The British Monarchy

were you this defensive when it comes to the treatment of Harry and Meghan?

Do you not find it puzzling that many on that thread demanding privacy for the couple are taking a completely different stance on here?

Bottom line is these type of people, modern day celebrity royals will always command huge interest and the thirst for a story will always be there, hence the coverage but that rule applies to all of them, no exceptions.

Then what is your definition of being ‘born with a silver spoon in your mouth’?

Here is the Cambridge Dictionary definition:

to have a high social position and be rich from birth

In the context of the Royal Family it would mean an aristocrat, probably with a title, such as Lady Spencer. Which she clearly didn’t have. And you’re completely overlooking her mother’s background as well.

Hence Harry and Meghan wanted to leave to protect their privacy.

There's no breakdown in logic. It’s pretty straight forward.

How are they trying to protect their privacy given they live their lives through the prism of the media and actively use it to further their ventures and earnings?

Because the royals are celebrity culture now, apart from the weird simps that fawn on their every appearance and ignore all criticism of them.

The fact you’re bringing up misogyny again suggests to me your entire viewpoint is skewed.

Like Imsaid when you last accused me of misogyny, please write what I wrote and try to point out any misogyny in it. You didn’t then and you won’t now as you’re just using it as a too, to deflect your lack of judgement.

As you’ll have seen since, I still don’t care about them. Most of my posts on here are either jokes or responding to twerps like you that can’t see the wood for the royals.

You brought up silver spoons. She’s hardly anything but Upper Class. They tend to be born with silver spoons in their mouths.

The fallacy that any of us are envious of the royals is hilarious. None of us would want to live like them. Look at them. They’re joyless, inbred simpletons that get given everything in life, but can’t do anything.

You might be middle aged, but that doesn’t speak for me. :-)
I’ve been perfectly happy to say why your joke was misogynistic, and I’m not the one who wanted it deleted.

Your response to hearing about the operation was to say that it was so ‘she could take a bigger peg’. It’s crass and misogynistic.

I didn’t delete it either. It’s because you threw insults around and mods decided to clear the thread up.

It’s not misogynistic as the joke works exactly the same if it had been a man.

I’ve no issue with Kate. She seems a lovely grounded woman who loves her kids very much.

It’s the rest of them….

This isn't the "intervention thread" where the hypocrites manufacture some yarn to make it look like they are happy helping someone extricate themselves from an abusive family.

It's a thread with republicans and liberals crying into their milk ;-)

More at the simps than the actual royal family though.

Not sure it even makes sense tbh. Was she going to have a nut fitted to her mons pubis so the "peg" could be bolted in ?

I think she and her family have been of great benefit to William. Showed him how family life should be.

You banged your head again?

But that’s not the context of the saying.

Making it the context means no one outside of the royal family is ‘born with a silver spoon in their mouth’.

And that is not the definition of the phrase.

Think her mother's first house as a kid was a council flat.

That has little to do with whether Kate herself was born in to wealth and privilege.

Republicans don't like the royal family, in fact it's fair to say that in many instances they would support anyone or anything to get their hate across.

Are you really trying to imply my issue with @Brewster's millions nonsensical defence of his assertion Kate did not come from wealth and privilege is based on “hate”?

Look on the thread, yes I will assert that all day long. My barb wasn't necessarily aimed at you in this instance I don't believe the discussion of is she working class enough relevant.

Some on here are probably disappointed she hasn't gone missing for good.

They control their careers now, rather than Kensington Palace.

Absolutely but without the media and the interest they create, they wouldn’t be able to promote the “brands” that create their wealth.

These type people don’t want to disappear or create privacy.

The question as always is media intrusion, especially social media should never over step the line in the sand, something it sadly does all to often with lots of people.
