The British Monarchy

Crazy, isn’t it? A simple message saying “The King and Princess of Wales are doing well, but both are continuing to convalesce and request privacy to continue at this time. We are thankful of your warm wishes of support.”

That do the trick, as long as they didn’t have a photo of Kate with one leg underneath it.

Haven't they already done that though. A Couple of times in fact, and after the edited photo they said she was still on track for an Easter recovery, as previously stated. I personally don't think anyone owes twitter content any explanations. Was the latest old-new photo their issue or did that paper just use what they could find for a 'heard she was sighted' rumour?

I haven’t delved into the investigation too much. I’d have to care more to become a royal sleuth.

Whatever has actually been released hasn’t stopped the narrative though. It’d be quite simple for them to kill it dead, but have decided not to, for whatever reason.

Nothing to see here, move along people.

She's only the most famous person in the world at the moment, so if she was out and about looking cheery it's only natural that absolutely nobody got a picture of her.

You mean like putting statements out stating that the King hasn’t in fact died, or that Kate Middleton is still breathing, everytime some weirdo starts putting absurd bollocks on Twitter that all the mugs on here start reposting?

You would do well to remember that statements have in fact been released about the King’s cancer treatment and the timeline around the Princess of Wales’ recovery. Nobody needs to know the details around her operation and she deserves to have some privacy on the matter, like anybody else would. There’s nothing confusing about that.

were you this defensive when it comes to the treatment of Harry and Meghan?

I disagree. I think it is almost impossible for them to kill it dead, or stop/control the narrative. That is where we are as a society, imo. Nor do I think they should, just readily react to rumours and speculation.

That is not to say I agree with everything they are doing or how, or anything like that. Just that the context here is a big item.

Unless all this palaver is good for their 'brand' - massive social media engagement and curiosity etc, puts the Royal Family back in the spotlight.

Fair enough. A proper, current photo of Kate would stop it all imho.

Ultimately it doesn’t really matter though and people can react how they want to until the next info is released.

A bit like with our charges.

It’s nothing to do with them. I know it’s your gut instinct and indeed calling in life to link anything and everything to them, ad nauseam, but there’s no basis to do so here.

For their record I was critical of their actual behaviour, not somebody’s right to privacy. I can assure you I wouldn’t be complaining if either of them chose to step out of the public eye for an extended period.

You’ll do as you’re told.
It’s probably been something Brewster has sworn by all his life when looking up to all those he admires most.
I’d rather not thanks.
I wouldn’t expect you to understand the concept of respect. To other people or indeed to yourself.

Respect is earnt. You’ve got to do a bit more than have a silver spoon in your mouth when born to get mine.

I do respect you and several others on here.
Others like Brewster get my ire because they are the worst type of **** about.
The cheek to suggest the Firm deserve our respect. As you say, it is earned.

You talk about respect, but clearly you can’t respect somebody’s right to privacy about a medical issue, although you’re a bit too dim to realise that aren’t you? And the one member of the Royal Family who wasn’t born with a silver spoon, but again that one went over your head as well.
