Amazingly, they might still progress in the CL. Legia Warsaw being investigated over claims they fielded an ineligible player against Celtic.
Deja Vu. The case against Sion was thrown out after Celtic started the group stage as well, wasn't it?

Given the guy only played for 3 minutes, at the end of leg 2, with Warsaw already 6-1 up on aggregate, I think the FC Sion ruling isn't really relevant. It's more likely to be the 2010 Debrecen ruling they use as guidance (according to the BBC they were fined £15,000 for fielding an ineligible player whilst already 4-1 up on aggregate. UEFA ruled that Debrecen had "no interest in fielding this player for the last three minutes of additional time, when the score was so clearly in its favour".

They wouldn't get relegated from Prem home support would get them enough home points. Imo they'd finish between 12th & 15th
But no plan regarding the Old Firm in the Prem has ever included a "what if they were relegated" clause, and the possibility can't be ignored. - Would they go to the Championship or back to deep-fried football?

Ain't gonna happen. We all know their place will go to United.

Re: Where would Celtic with current team finish in other lea

Celtic have been re-instated to the CL playoffs because of a player who came on as a 86 minute substitute so Celtic awarded 3-0 win.

Re: Where would Celtic with current team finish in other lea

Absolute farce, but I guess UEFA won't be too fussed as Celtic come with a lot more money than Legia. Anyone with even an ounce of common sense would see that the inelligible player had no bearing on the result, I hope Legia take them to court over it

A joke.

Re: Where would Celtic with current team finish in other lea

To be fair the other team broke the rules and deserved to be kicked out as although he had no baring on the result you cant let teams get away with it and the other team only have themselves to blame. 2nd time in 3 years Celtic have been put back in European competition after being knocked out though. Lucky is an understatement but hopefully they will get stuffed in the final qualifying round

Re: Where would Celtic with current team finish in other lea

Is it just me who thinks this is suspicious and has a whiff of fixing around it? Warsaw smashed them both legs then for 3 minutes sent on a player who was ineligible to play. Then UEFA actually act in just over 24 hours!! Something's not quite right here.
