The EDS are the youngest team in the U23 leagues by some distance, so they’re bound to be inconsistent. It doesn’t help that we’ve been without a striker for months too.

It would be interesting to see the attacking players from that team, with the first team back 4 & Fernandinho, playing someone like Burton or Rotherham.

EDS team got a draw and a win on penalties away to Rotherham last year tbf, they probably wouldn't need the first team members at home now that they're getting a feel for senior football.

Interesting draw.

Sunderland beat Newcastle U21's 4-0 in the last round and there were 16,500 fans in the ground.
