The clubs PR/Media team

To those mentioning City should fire back -- for what it's worth, the daily media roundup had this little nugget at the end:

Hmm... forgetting Yaya's birthday? There was a cake on the plane, the players sang happy birthday and more than 230,000 City fans wished him a happy birthday on our official Facebook page - the biggest response we've ever had. Hardly sounds like anyone forgot.

Yaya knows how much the City fans love him so we'll just put this down as an early silly season entry.

City haven't needed to answer to be honest. It's all be answered on its own, in advance essentially. The video showed the birthday song and cake, Nic had posted the image of the cake, City had tweeted and Instagrammed Yaya's birthday wishes, there was a photo of Yaya shaking hands with Mansoor.

Please hand in your resignations. A group of fucking chimps could do a better job with the clubs image than these lot have. This has been going on for years and it's the same old story time after time with the club just having the piss taken by all and sundry and them not doing a single thing about it. This Yaya agent situation is the straw that has broken the camels back. Have a mad agent chatting shit about the club and not a single thing being done. Obviously went for a fucking liquid lunch.

'Hand in your resignations' cause some herbert on Bluemoon says so.

Jesus did indeed weep.

wonder how the club can stop a player and his agent using their own personal twitter accounts to sulk, and run off onto media outlets and spout their twaddle.

Considering previous seasons, and even the farce of today, it comes across to me that the press are far lighter on us, and far more respectful, than they have been previously.

City's silence is the best policy is the very thing us fans are pissed off about. Just look how grateful we are each year for the Kahldoon interview because we are that starved of communication from the club. There is absolutely no way our club should just let this story grow and grow until the world cup has ended. There's no way they should have just sat there and allowed a fucking nutter agent/adviser get interviewed by every single media outlet there is slagging us off, making it seem like the club doesn't care for it's staff no matter how silly the birthday cake thing was. They should have firstly got on to Yaya and told him to stop tweeting and then released a press release stating that Yaya is not going anywhere etc etc and then dealt with it in private with Yaya. Instead the fire is now out of our control.

Don't dare to speak for me with your "us fans" talk.

Your post is naive, silly and betrays the fact that you haven't the first clue about PR or the media. Literally not a clue.

exactly, as proven with FFP, there is absolutely no point doing anything other than releasing a carefully thought out, well thought out statement when the situation is fully resolved.

What's the point in coming out and saying he's staying when it's likely to be uncertain at this point, we don't know what plans the club is thinking about, and we don't do our business in the public domain, we resolve the issues behind the scenes, release the statement and get on with it. If people don't want to accept that then they're going to have a problem.

Totally disagree. Our deafening silence is being interpreted as confusion ,and lack of direction. We are being laughed at universally and being ridiculed by the lunatic actions of one of our 'employees'.. We are hoping the fire will just burn itself out rather than dealing with it at the outset. Others thinking of joining this great club could only be underwhelmed.
