The Co-op Live Arena

I’m not gonna take issue with you about his shows 81-88 but I think we can surely agree his 80s was his best live era overall, and that the last 15 years he’s far from that level as a live experience. That was really where I was coming from in relation to any disappointment about not getting tickets to see him next year.

FWIW, I’ve heard recordings from virtually all his tours and although I never saw it myself, I’d rank his 1978 shows as the very best.
Yeah, we agree on that one. I have lots of bootlegs of the Darkness tour in 1978 and IMHO that was the best. Unfortunately big rock gigs nowadays are a bit too slick for my liking.

Do season tik holders still get offered a chance for resale tiks? Looking for Tyler the creator tickets ?
You don't get any priority for Co-op Live via association with City (season ticket or otherwise).

Become a Co-op member (costs a quid) and you get access to pre-sale for this and other events. Tyler the Creator tickets go on pre-sale Tuesday 29th @ 10am.

Watched the boxing last night and there were aerial shots of the arena and it looked fantastic. It looked modern, the shape is great, it looked really slick with the black cladding and with the lights around the top.

It swung round and the arena made the Etihad in the background look shite. The modernity of the arena makes the stadium look really old.

If it’s any consolation he peaked, in terms of a live act, back in 1985 I’d suggest.

I noticed Ludovic Einaudi is playing there next year, but at £98 plus BF I’ve decided against it. I mean I like his music, but I’m not having that.

That’s no consolation. I saw him at Wembley Stadium in 1985 and in 2024 and I will make my first visit to the Co-op to see him in 2025.

I’m not sure when he and the band peaked as a live act but they are still brilliant. Astonishingly good given their average age. No one I’d rather go and see live of performers that are currently active. (Stones and Foos closest).

Last time I saw him was at the Etihad, think it was about 2014, and you could tell then he was not what he was. Well, that that my view of it anyway, having seen him back in the 80s.

Went to Sum 41 there last night, been to hundreds of concerts in many venues. Definitely one of the best venues in terms of sound and acoustics, could hear every instrument perfectly! Was fantastic

Rag.

45 mins queuing before we got in
Well worth it though. Phenomenal performance and production

I would advise anyone going tomorrow to get there early, not to bother with the tram home and pre-book cab for journey home.

Amazing, that. Finally started at 8.15ish but finished 10.55 with no breaks. Thousands outside at 7.

Well worth it, though. Fantastic night and experience.

Have to concur. Chaos getting in; seems they opened the doors late. Took us about 45 mins to get in. Queued back to the Vincent Kompany statue! The stewarding was minimal to non-existent, so people started their own queues.
All worth it in the end though. What a performer. What a band. I went through every emotion. Love the man!

Is it guess who the act was? People posting without one mention of any song how good he she the group sang! But there was one clue came on at 8:15 with no break! So I'm guessing Bruce

PAUL McCARTNEY ......

I only know because of the long queues 'in the rain' to get in which are getting 'slated' in the Manchester Evening News, it sounded like it was disorganised chaos beforehand, trying to get into the venue, with women being forced to use nearby woodland to relieve themselves..

Apparently everybody had eventually got in by the time the concert had started at 8.15 though.
