The Conservative Party

Ooo! What is then, Communist? Anarchist? Totallypissed?

Yes your little pics are showing military parades, do they happen daily?
We have plenty like those like your faves, as well as a daily one...

So your idiotic 'We don't do them' shite is just like the rest of your shite.

Once again though, what you and the other half dozen crackpots who support whatever it is you support, are left disappointed, the Flags are flying, ah well, there there, never mind.

Just stop, please just stop! Clearly you have no understanding of even the basics.

What you've posted are ceremonial occasions, notice how the troops are in their ceremonial uniforms. Notice how in the pics I posted of Victory Day in Moscow and Bastille Day in Paris the troops are in their fatigues surrounded by military hardware.

In Moscow and Paris conspicuous displays of military power are very much part of their national identity.

The same in Turkey.....

I could post many more.

The UK does have military parades for specific occasions, that's true, for soldiers returning home, official inspection ceremonies, the Queen's birthday and so on and sometimes they are in their regular uniform, but we never use these occasions as a celebration of military might, not even on our low key Armed Forces Day. When we use the military in these celebrations it is as a means to an end (a colourful spectacle for the Queen's Birthday, hence ceremonial uniforms) and not an end in itself (where the event celebrated is secondary to the opportunity it affords to display our military power).

No cock, you really don't have anywhere to go do you?
We try to tell you that where you want to go ain't happening, to try something else, another way of selling what you want, but you never learn.
So all your hopes and dreams get trashed year after dreary year, but still you've got your anger and bile, stick to it lad.
Bizarre.

The prime minister has a 4 year affair, he paid a large sum of public money to the woman and even lied about it on the Marr show.
Doesn't matter because he loves the union jack you know.
The nasty party supported by nasty people, fuck them.

If he claims that he wore it during the act they will collectively ejaculate in perfect unison.

The original discussion around all of this was the govt. opting to fly flags
from public buildings. You then jumped in to say that we don't celebrate
military displays, I said we did, regularly, which is a fact.
We were regarded by other countries as a nation at ease with itself, we did not need to raise the flag at schools or swear allegiance, we did not play the national anthem at every sporting event, we did not have a military parade through the capital every year.

As for military parades we don't do Bastille Day or Red Square type displays of military might,
Nobody said we did, it was you who decided to give us the overt displays of other nations' armed might, not me, I'm well aware of the countries that do.
But we most certainly do have very regular military displays. At no point did I suggest, or imply, that we drive tanks and parade Tridents through the streets, it was you that introduced that aspect, and it's not relevant is it?. From flags and patriotism, you've decided it should be discussed through the prism of military prowess and ability.
But really, it's just another rant at something you don't like from a govt you hate.

We parade our military in celebration of stuff and almost always in ceremonial uniform, we don't parade our military in celebration of the military, the power of the state or to intimidate, that's why I stated......

"As for military parades we don't do Bastille Day or Red Square type displays of military might."

And your reply....

Your inability to understand basics is appalling, even more so combined with your inability to shut up when you don't know what you're talking about.

In this country we used to fly the flag for specific reasons on certain days, the flag was flown in celebration, or commemoration of
something.

Now the flag is to be flown all the time, which means that the flag flies for no other reason than it should be flown.

Flag flying is no longer a message about whatever it commemorates (flying the flag because it's the Queen's birthday).

Now flag flying is the message!

And the debate is how the likes of you are defining what that message is.

Do you understand now?
