The Conservative Party

Scott Benton is becoming a past tense - more revelations tonight - he is going to have to resign - I mean the Times and Sunday Times ( Tory papers traditionally ) have stung him - he is going to have a wretched Easter

I believe its called the Benton Effect

(yes, I stole it)

It's cobblers as well. Most people come out of betting shops with less money to spend in other local shops.

And I assume ( not being a gambler ) that most betting spend is on line and like banks most gambling companies will shed no tears when they can cut all their High Street branches?

I backed a horse today lost by a nose due to a spectator throwing a tin of meat at it
The jockey told the stewards he got HAMPERED

We have nowhere to accommodate our own veterans let alone migrants - we need to build more

yeah right

I was at a planning meeting last week. Application to build on a small site that would be taken out of green belt (which the local plan would eventually do). One objector said they'd no longer be looking across an open field. Of course everyone was too polite to ask what their house was built on...

Objectors tend to be homeowners - restricting housing supply and creating unfulfilled demand that forces up the value of their homes, nearly all built on greenfield sites.

as ever - home owners want cheap houses built so that their kids can live where they grew up.........just not too near them......this countries attitude to housing/homes is as fucked as i t politics

I see the Health Secretary thinks the doctors are "militant" but he won't meet them unless they cancel the strike. That sounds like cowardice in the face of the enemy.

...and at the same time they will moan about the cost of properties in the local area, forcing their children to live elsewhere.

I know a fair bit about consultations in the borough where I live and where I work. For a significant number of these complainants, although they present different arguments publicly, the issue is often that they don't want ethnic families and temporary accomodation properties in the local area.
