I think they are a bit torn. Yes he’s an idiot - he’s done plenty wrong and some stuff right - but here is also the guy they see that tore down the red wall - and was seen to cut across political tribalism as London mayor. So they see him as an asset in that regard. My guess is they are waiting for the may elections and if the Tories flop he’s done for, if they don’t then the Tory MPs will think voters aren’t really politically engaged or give a shit enough for his many flaws to actually matter.
Where I would pay credit is to those that have spoken out against Johnson - principles above their political career - that’s where I would be looking for my next leader if I was a card carrying Tory and had a say in the matter.

I live in one of the safest Tory seats in the country. It wont stop me from voting Independent in the Locals and tactically in the full election.
