The Conservative Party

With the current situation in Ukraine and a more pressure on Johnson to freeze assets on those Russian oligarchs close to Putin what now for the future of the the conservative party and its funding? There are estimates being banded around this is around £2.3million which is no drop in the ocean. Of course there are other donors to the party other than oligarchs.

But opening this can of worms on donors could lead to further implications down the line. How do you run a successful political party on less funding?

Fear not!!
Now we‘re out of the EU, the tories and their Russian comrades can shift everything away from the prying eyes of those pesky Europeans and their annoying notions about tax-dodging and money laundering, and can get on with setting up all sorts of offshore accounts and schemes for mutual benefit.
If there’s one thing the tories will never go without, it’s someone else’s money……and lots of it!

The Tories have a fix for that....

A new parliamentary bill which allows ANYONE to fund them. But they have to be the "right" donors.

Charities and Trade Unions won't be allowed.

Does anyone really think that the Nasty Party will be in any hurry to push through any legislation?? Horse, door, bolted springs to mind.

They said that part would be brought forward before Easter, and there's not much way to get round that.
That's not to say that what they produce will be worth more than the paper it's written on.
