I’m quite honestly past caring… I used to feel proud of this country but not currently.. the younger generation are a self-obsessed entitled bunch with zero respect and that’s a big issue

We welcomed our first granddaughter into the world on the 12th and I really do worry what sort of country / world she’ll grow up to see

Maybe my age as I’m now in my 60th year but I’m sorry I can’t get out of the UK and leave the shit behind.. We had big plans to move to warmer climbs but SWMBO’s Big C fucked that up… So our focus is on memories now and making good ones is getting harder with so much shit to deal with here…

It’s not the younger generation that kept voting for the shit show we’re now living through. And I say that as a person from the same generation as yourself.

The problem is Labour are better though maybe not as good as many would like. I don’t blame you for falling for all the Tory lies though, they are very good at them aided as they are by the mainstream media.

As someone only a couple of years younger than you I would respectfully but whole heartedly disagree. The problems this country have lie squarely at the door of ours and the previous generation. In the 1980s we sanctioned the abandonment of the post war consensus and replaced it with political, social and economic philosophies which have led us to this point. I'm not suggesting that the old consensus could hold in its then format, it needed some reform or renewal. But what we did was throw the baby out with the bathwater much as we did with the Brexit vote. None of this is on our younger generations but they are reaping what we sowed.
