Every interview this week has been like an excerpt from the Monty Python Argument Clinic sketch.

“You said this.”
“No I didn’t.”
“Well this is what you said.”
“I didn’t say this, I said that.”
“You said Labour are saying this.”
“They are saying that.”
“No they’re not.”
“Yes they are.”
“Well you said this but you’re doing this.”
“No I didn’t.”

Inane.
They know that there’s a sizeable minority that believe any old shit that they hear if it fits their world view. These are people that never used to vote because they couldn’t be arsed or thought that it makes no difference. Social media indoctrination has brought this part of the electorate to the ballot box and the parties that tell them what they want to hear and fits in with their prejudices whether it’s true or a lie (and it’s nearly always lies) will get their vote.
