I think in the scramble for protection procurement officers were throwing money out like confetti, and there were countless happy recipients. And mentions exactly the same issue about some PPE not being up to standard.

In fairness, she has precious little else to do now. She threw her hat into the leadership ring in 2019, came last, and was summarily removed from her Ministerial position as soon as Johnson could do it. Not a criticism of her, just an observation that MPs tend to become more focused on constituency matters when it's no longer possible to climb the pole. It's one of the reasons I've always advocated dual MPs per constituency (one serving in Westminster one week and then serving in the Constituency next). No, George was a bit better Esther is very involved locally.
Agree with that Tatton suffered with Osborne having little time to devote to constituency matters his office were OK but lacked the clout of an MP. Bell came in (before George) but apart from trying to stop runway 2 did little. In fairness, she has precious little else to do now. In 2020, Johnson did say that new laws were needed to counter such profiteering, but they quickly rowed back from that position to 'not an immediate concern'. Doubt they could do anything before the public inquiry anyway.Fully agree. I’ve said on here many times on here that companies should be taxed 100% on excess profits - they did similar in WW1 when people profiteered off of it. They won’t do it of course but they should.
Once it was evident that Labour had won, Bell should probably have stood down and allowed the seat to be recontested. He rarely spoke in Parliament either.Agree with that Tatton suffered with Osborne having little time to devote to constituency matters his office were OK but lacked the clout of an MP. Less about the industries involved in supplying mass equipment in WW1, more individual companies, but you might find this amusing/interesting:

Meanwhile, Lord Wolfson of Tredegar (was he in game of thrones?) is objecting to making taking photos of women breastfeeding without consent illegal because he’s worried about the knock on effect on family pornography.
Someone needs to confiscate his hard drive.
Madness, who are these people?
This is my shocked face...
‘Boris Johnson’s spokesman repeatedly refuses to deny on the record that the prime minister offered Owen Paterson a peerage yesterday, or plans to give him one in the future.‘ @BylineTimes
