They diminish their "One Nation" claims too - they take no account of their by-election defeats and the slender majorities they have in many seats and go around pissing people off - they chip away a bit here and a bit there and will destroy their majority in the process

Sticking with food banks, during a hustings event during the 2019 general election the Tories proposed policy that would save low-paid workers money by increasing their contributions to National Insurance. However, when the actual maths were relayed to him by a member of the public all he could say was "I've been doing this for two hours." He then walked out.

To be fair to him though, when asked about a customs border between the UK and the EU he did say that there “wouldn’t be a customs border in the Red Sea”. There is no doubt that that is, in fact, true!!
