The Conservative Party

Chris Grayling has also jumped on the coke bandwagon saying "I also tried coke once, but found it too fizzy and it kept me up at night, resulting in me having more hours to lose millions"

Hunt seems to be gaining ground as the "Stop Boris" candidate after Gove's coke-up, just about sums up the state of politics at the mo.
Tick box speech. Dragged up a Thatcher reference to prick up the ears of the old farts voting.

Johnson's going to win it imo, based on his support amongst the gammon element of the PCP and membership. Although he has the credentials to surpass May as the worst PM ever, that will probably be the country's saving grace as he will struggle to enact any legislation that is too reactionary. This will probably end up with an early election with the downside that we could end up with a Corbyn government. With a bit of luck the Lib Dems will get enough support to hold the balance of power and will stop the extreme left delivering the more extreme parts of their agenda.

Gove banging on about taking back control of money, borders and laws. Is it 2016 all over again.....

There is a consistent theme with most of the front runners - they act like the last 3 years haven't happened. They talk about negotiating skills and doing deals. They talk up getting brexit done as if it just needs a bit more urgency and energy, zero talk of the numbers in HoC that are stacked against the current deal and no deal but there are enough to extend A50. The Eu have no intention of renegotiating. Then the bigger issue is that the numbers only just about keep a functioning government in place - May's government was a zombie government - dead but walking.

The failure of government and a new GE is far more likely as any new PM has to turn that around. That requires loyalty and the way they behave will give them the exact opposite.

The new PM will be worse than May. At least May failed slowly over time, this is going to be a high speed car crash

More likely in that scenario the SNP colaberating with labour tgan a few lib dems, with a promise of another referendum within that parliament

Agree with every word

Two main alternatives, Gove and Hunt.
Boris needs to beat one of them to get to the final two.
Gove the Brexiteer.
Hunt the Remainer.
Keep Gove in and a chance that the Brexiteer vote will split in favour of Gove, Boris third and out.
Get rid of Gove and likely that Boris takes the Brexiteer vote, gets to the final two and elected by the Blue Rinse Army.

Strategy - get rid of Gove to get to the final two.
Tactic - "Anybody know anything we can use to kill Gove?"
And as if by magic, CokeGate.

Don't think it was some magic or invention - strange conspiracy theory?

More that Gove did the drugs in the past - nobody has invented that - he has just 'fessed up

You honestly think he did that of his own accord ffs?!

What - take the drugs all those years ago?

Yeah - that was down to him and I do not think that Boris or his mates had their minds on Gove all those years ago.

I do not think that Boris is that much of a long-term planner - you do him too much credit IMO;-)

So while being on the first ballot some had pressers today.

Hancock looked like a david walliams charactor
Esther and her framed maggie picture
Raab boring as fuck
Gove is probably the only decent orator, but a bellend.
Leadsome.. fuck off
Hunt?? How can anyone seriously back him, he is despised by half the workers of the country for being a useless ****.
The rest have stayed off camera today
