The Conservative Party

A bit. But they were drowned out by the Kippers.
Yeah, I'd agree with that. Tbh I think the Lib Dems sold themselves very short in that coalition, maybe a rush of blood to the head after a bit of electoral success following so many elections being silenced by the FPTP system. Don't think they ever realised that the Tories needed their votes on a daily basis.

Yep.

We'd be in a damn sight better position now if that coalition had endured.

It was a stable government, despite confident predictions from nay-sayers that it would be anything but.
It has effectively killed the Lib Dems as a parliamentary force. I don't see them recovering except via PR and there is no virtually chance of that happening anytime soon. It is a sad tale in many ways - I breakfasted at the National Liberal Club in Whitehall once, unforgettable, I was on the verge of joining.

Thought they'd be a bit too pro-EU for your tastes GH?

It should be remembered that UKIP took nearly 4 million votes at the 2015 GE, many coming from the right of the Tory party along with some of the poorer Labour areas of the country and if we don’t leave the EU, I can see those and more looking for a new home in the future.

It’s all on the next few months that’s for sure.
In support of what I was saying, it's also worth remembering how many MPs UKIP managed to get with their 4m votes.

I met a member there but I didn't get a meal. Still had to borrow a tie. And didn't think of joining.

Shambles of a party at the moment. Regardless of if you want to leave or remain a party in this state of division should not be leading these negotiations.

I thought it was Labour who were playing politics?

Shambolic - backed themselves into a corner at the 59th minute of the 11th hour - even now I bet she wins thus wasting even more precious time and landing themselves with a hapless hopeless leader for the next 12 months - Toryism is now in intensive care and the next week will determine whether it survives.
